The Peartree Inn — Restaurant in Eastleigh

Not quite sure why this lovely little pub has been rated quite so badly? I'm assuming that the comments were about The Pear Tree, prior to the latest change of management?

Surprisingly, although I probably only live 5 - 6 miles from it, I had never even seen it or heard of it until today?

The new landlord is a reminder of the great days of the British pub, a real 'old fashioned host'. Welcoming, friendly and experienced. The new team have been in place for 3 short weeks, so still finding their way. Food is not yet available, but I assume that will be coming along very soon? The pub isn't the largest, but that is no bad thing, it is clean, well stocked and reasonably priced. The large windows on 3 sides, ensure that it is bright and open. I may have taken 10 years to find this place, but I know it will only be a few weeks before I return.

Well worth searching for.

UPDATE: Apparently this venue is now under new management. Younger people with different attitudes. I wish them well.

And for the record...to the reviewer who posted... 'None of that pub chain rubbish'...this is an Enterprise Inn, so the VERY worst of that ilk.

Well done to the new owner Molly and Nyle , Nice changers to inside of the pub ,with more to come. Friendly atmosphere everyone is greeted with a warm welcome, Live music once a month. Real ales, dog friendly pub, 05/09/18 The food starts to roll out ,. Had a little taster day today yummy , yummy. Again well done , just what the locals Need , it's nice to see the influx of customer arriving the new estate that have tried and enjoy the ambience you offer , long may in continue .

25/11/18, Just popped in the Pear Tree for Sunday lunch ,,, Very very busy thank God I booked a table ,,,,, otherwise I would have gone home starving ( Lol). Absolutely lovely...

Went in for a business meeting as I felt this place would be the perfect setting and location. When I asked to place my business card on their community board the male bar staff agreed. Ventured into the garden to come back and order another drink for it to be removed. When I asked the young man behind the bar he said I quote " I DUNNO IM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HERE" I then explained I shall report to the brewery of his awful attitude to be told "YOU WONT GET FAR" I demanded my card back and oh he miraculously found it!! (From the bin I suspect) Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, terrible support for local perfessional people!! Not again...
