Unfortunately our dining experience at the hotel restaurant was very poor. We decided to dine here as with 2 tired children after a busy day at Peppa pig world we wanted something quick and easy without having to travel too far. Unfortunately we were left for quite a while before being seated despite at least 3 members of staff being close by. We were eventually seated but again it was a long time before orders were taken. The menu is fine, nothing too exciting but also full of crowd pleasers like fish and chips, burgers, Thai curry etc. The children's menu was actually very good with lots of options and 3 courses were included with our stay. It took an extremely long time for our drinks to arrive but they were quickly followed by our starters. Unfortunately my son's starter was missing but we were told it was on its way. My son's starter still hadn't arrived by the time the rest of the family were finished so we asked for it to be skipped and we'd go straight to main courses because we didn't really want to be waiting too much longer, at this point we were informed that they had a glitch with the ticketing system so lots of orders were missing hence the long wait. By now the majority of the restaurant was full of customers looking tired of waiting but the staff did absolutely nothing to inform anyone of the delays. Our mains finally arrived but it was a bit of a mixed bag with regards to the quality of the meals. My husband and daughters fish and chips looked good however my burger was very different to the menu description and really wasn't very tasty at all, probably most similar to a burger at Wetherspoons which would be fine it it didn't come with a £19 pricetag. My son's pizza and chips consisted of one small slice of thin pizza that looked and tasted more like cardboard. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and to be honest below par. When we finally got the bill we asked if we could change it to the room but unfortunately they don't offer this service. We were also charged an extra £5 for my glass of wine compared to the menu price however by this point we were tired and desperate to leave so didn't dispute it as it would undoubtedly of taken another 30 minutes to resolve. Absolutely discusting customer service the receptionist at the front desk Debbie was extremely rude made our stay very horrible would definately not reccomend this hotel to anyone, we were over charged she called liars and charged us an extra £30 for our son (5yrs old) to stay but it was clear we had already paid for him in black in white but she demanded the £30, I have managed to get a refund of this, she said central reservations are the ones that should be refunding us they said it was her fault and she has never of taken the extra £30, discusting customer service she should not be working in this hotel!! We enjoyed our evening meals in the restaurant (Winchester reasturant) We were greeted at the bar by a very energetic and welcoming young man "Callum" who made a point of knowing everything about your stay 👌 in the restaurant we were served by the lovely and smiling "Zoe" who was very attentive and just lovely! And this was all overseen by the most amazing restaurant manager "Sian" who was so attentive and mentoring to his staff team!...
