You’re not the owner of the new chippy in Esher are you 😂 We have been going to this small family business for the past 15 years and have never had a bad experience. If you catch them right then what you get is absolutely excellent, but you can get less than acceptable chips occasionally, or get there and too many times find they are closed - which they appear to do for several holidays a year. That can be very frustrating as it is a long way to another decent outlet. I’m baffled by the good reviews. The proper sized chips tasted good but over a third of my portion were scraps. The cod didn’t taste fresh and the batter was extremely brittle. Mushy peas were so runny ( I saw a similar review from 3 year ago!) and onion rings were clearly bought in ready made and very mushy. The sausage was very low quality.
