Went for breakfast with my husband, parking wasn’t bad as we was the only ones but the steep walk up to the front was not good but I don’t think that can be helped. Was welcomed by a lovely young Lady extremely polite.she took our order and the food arrived fast looked amazing, presentation was 10/10 the full English was deffinatly a hit, the Indian breakfast parata was really nice and fresh but unfortunately my channa curry tasted like it was off or been cooked more then one day ago hence the 4 star. Halva was nice I asked for the ichaar twice as I didn’t enjoy the curry. Didn’t mention it to the restaurant as the waitress was so polite I didn’t want to say anything. Overall for £24 it would have been an amazing breakfast of the channa curry was fresh. I will definitely go again as it’s local the service was good and the atmosphere is very welcoming so this place could be derbys best soon I hope.

We had the most incredible meal at Amad’s on Monday. We started of with a basket of poppadoms and chutneys, before moving onto our starters. I opted for the dynamite prawns and my goodness was I not left disappointed, I’m sure you can see from the pictures I’ve left, just how Incredible these looked, and they tasted even better. My dad went for the aloo tiki potato cakes where were beautifully garnished. Moving onto our mains, I couldn’t decided what I wanted, so I let our server decided, I had the Newabi chicken which was tomatoey, garlicky and spiced to perfection, my dad went for the tandoori chicken. We had pilau rice, stunning naans to accompany them. We will definitely be returning, I haven’t stopped thinking about those prawns since the visit. The service was top notch, the staff were lovely and the food is incredibly good value.

My friend and I went for a Saturday evening meal, it was my birthday. I love the ambience of the place, it was busy which is always a good sign. We had the works, from poppadoms, starters mains and dessert as well as desi tea and drinks. Everything was well presented and more importantly the flavours were on point. Amad, the owner, was very attentive to our table and the others around us, very well presented man, did all he could to make us feel comfortable. No issues with the pricing as well, it's what you would pay for good food and good portion sizes. I've also been in the morning for a desi brunch which was just as nice. Keep up the good work, Amad and Co.

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent dining experience at Amad Restaurant in Derby. My friend and I travelled from Nottingham to partake in the Iftar Dinner, eagerly anticipating a delightful culinary experience. However, upon arrival, we encountered a series of disappointments that I feel compelled to share.

Upon our arrival, we found no one at the reception to receive us, leading to a brief but noticeable wait. Eventually, we sought assistance from the hotel reception, where a gentleman kindly escorted us to the restaurant and arranged for service. Despite this, there was a prolonged delay before any attention was given to our table.

When the first dish arrived, comprising of only two dates and three small onion pakoras, it was underwhelming. Subsequent servings of two kebabs, two tikka boti, and two fish pakoras were equally lacking in quantity and presentation. Notably, we had to request water, which was not offered proactively.

The main course, when it finally arrived after a considerable wait, fell short in both portion size and temperature. While the plates were adequately heated, the quality of the food and accompanying naans left much to be desired.

Unfortunately, the level of customer service provided was subpar and sluggish. Despite the presence of empty tables and a modest crowd of only 18 diners, there appeared to be a shortage of staff. Mr. Sagar, the sole waiter, valiantly attempted to manage both the dining area and reception, but his efforts were hindered by inadequate support and supervision.

It is disheartening to report that the supervisor, Mr. Maqsood Khan, seemed oblivious to basic customer service standards, a deficiency that greatly impacted our dining experience. Notably, a particular incident where a customer was left to fetch water for themselves, while holding the jug, tarnished the restaurant's image further.

While the ambiance and decor of Amad Restaurant were commendable, they were overshadowed by the poor quality of food and lackluster customer service. Regrettably, I must express my dissatisfaction with this experience and cannot, in good conscience, recommend Amad...

I went here for dinner and honestly didn't enjoy the food or experience. The staff were in a hurry to just wrap things up and get their customers out of the restaurant. They have a menu with a list of items, but half of the things weren't available, this is my experience with the waiter. Quite frustrating when you want something but can't have it.

I wanted an appetiser and main dish but they requested me to order them together rather than receiving the appetiser first and then the main dish, which one usually does in traditional fashion. Why? Because they just made the excuse that they're closing and they just want to pack up and leave rather than serving the customer.

First red line was this. If you dont want to serve a customer with full intentions or be halfhearted and sitting on the fence about it, I'd rather be told "sorry we're closed" than go through having a worse experience with unfresh rushed food.

Anyway i received the food. I ordered the dynamite shrimp. There were 3 on the plate but i expected more quantity and the sauce isnt supposed to be super spicy but it was so spicy that my mouth was burning. I didnt say anything but it was disappointing.

Then I ordered as a main dish the chicken karahi with naan, even though before reaching this option, i was told "other items are not available" which was about half of the menu.

So the karahi was just pretty much a dish of oil with spices and chicken. There was so much oil i cannot even express how disappointing it is seeing your food just be a pot of oil. The chicken was stale and tasteless. It was just an oil stew. The naan didn't have a fluffy or thick look to them, they weren't fresh and they were just greasy.

Anyway that was my experience. PERSONALLY I don't recommend this place for eating. Alot of people have given it a high review but trust me, they don't deserve high reviews. The environment of the restaurant and interior design looks good that it is an illusion. Do not be fooled. Take your money and go eat something...

We recently hosted a party that turned out to be an unforgettable experience, all thanks to the outstanding quality and service provided. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning interior decoration that created a warm and elegant atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, setting the perfect mood for the evening.

The food was nothing short of extraordinary. There was an incredible variety to choose from, and every dish was prepared to perfection. The quality was impeccable, and the flavors were simply divine. It was evident that a lot of care and thought went into the menu, as each dish was crafted with the freshest ingredients, ensuring a delightful experience for all our guests. The presentation was top-notch, and the hygiene standards were maintained to the highest level, which further added to our peace of mind and enjoyment.

The service was equally commendable. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, always ready to cater to our needs with a smile. Their commitment to providing a high standard of service truly stood out and contributed to making the event even more special. Every guest felt cared for, and the warmth of the staff made everyone feel at home.

We left with hearts full of joy and memories that we will cherish for a long time. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how much they enjoyed themselves. Each one of us went home happy, and we just can't stop thinking and talking about how amazing the evening was. It was, without a doubt, the most lovely and memorable party we've ever had!

A huge thank you from us for making our event so spectacular. You exceeded all our expectations, and we are already looking forward to the next opportunity to celebrate with you...
