Simple, great tasting food obviously made with fresh local ingredients. The service is impeccable, we live over in Cumbria so we're not there that often yet we still get a warm familiar greeting, as if we were there every day. We have been there on the odd occasion when it's very busy and there has been a longer than usual wait for food. In this case the lovely gentleman behind the counter let us know before we sat down and kept apologising, we really didn't mind at all. The shop also sells lots of hand made crafts made by people in the village and surrounding areas, there's some amazing pieces and all of it is very reasonably priced. However we were made to feel very welcome. All the hot food was good and very reasonably priced. I say the food was 'good' but the home made carrot and coriander soup was the BEST I have ever tasted. The man in the shop brought hot milk to the table outside where we sat but mother-in-law asked for cold milk , so he happily went back inside for the cold milk. No problem what so ever. Lovely man.
