DON'T ASK FOR BEANS!!

The waiting staff were polite but the manager was very rude. The food was overpriced and the portions were small considering the price. I dared to ask for a portion of side of baked beans to have with my (ÂŁ11.95) jacket potato, which came with a very (very) stingy sprinkling of cheese, slaw and salad. The veggie options were limited unless you are a fan of goats cheese and a gal needs her protein. This was rudely and firmly refused. When I asked why since they were on the menu elsewhere the manager said that 'they couldn't open an ENTIRE tin of baked beans just because I wanted some. Her tone was one of disgust and defiance. Since you can buy a tin of baked beans for 30p and I was spending so much on a very simple dish, this seemed ridiculous. Particularly since they don't spoil overnight and it was 12.45pm so possibly, maybe there was a chance someone else might elwant some baked beans that very same day!? However, it was the very rude manner and brusqueness of the manager that was most offensive. I assume she was the manager as the rest of the (very polite) young staff were in uniforms.

Some staff training on customer service for management and a review of the options for veggies and vegans...

This experience was awful. Me, my mother and her friend met up here a week ago and came to the cafe. In the cafe, there are two separate areas; A woodfired kitchen for pizzas etc, and an area for other food, bear in mind these two areas share a kitchen. I ordered a pizza in the woodfired area of the café (which took 15 minutes to move through a queue of 6 people) and then went to join my mother in the other area of the café. I asked the staff if I could take my pizza in and join my mum, and I was denied (once again, these are the same establishment.). I then went to cancel my order where there was a queue of 4 people, and I started queuing at 11:37. I reached the front of the queue at 12:04 by which time the pizza I tried to cancel was finished being made and in the meantime, my mum ordered a 2nd meal for me so we could all eat together, and the waitress still turned round and said we wernt allowed to eat, so I talked to her and told her that they shared a kitchen, and therefore were clearly the same establishment. In future, Levens will be seeing...

My mum rang to see if we need to book a table for four poeple after two o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon she was told she didn't need to book, when we got there there was a queue for the restaurant when it got to our turn we was told if we haven't booked we'd be lucky to get a table. I was a little annoyed as we waited for some time n my mum n dad are in their late 70's to be fare a young lad came up to us and said there's an outside cafe if we want to sit outside but mum can't sit out in the sun for long in the end we did get an inside table what was meant to be a lovely birthday celebration was a little off putting I was up n down at the counter ordering what we wanted, just thought it would of been easier to have table service rather than getting up n down too many people walking around. The garden shop n cafe are beautiful though I must admit we will come again just hope poeple understand some elderly people take longer to serve than others don't like feeling rushed when at counter being...

Went to the main cafe once for breakfast which was very average but visited the little side cafe numerous times for the banging pizza. Always been great, staff always so friendly, particularly the chef, which I appreciate because I’m a chef and I don’t want to talk to anyone!! You’ve got a good one there! Pizza was brilliant as usual; my partner didn’t get the one he ordered but they offered to re make it, he said ‘just spray some hot honey on it and it’s fine’, staff said it was a lot cheaper for the one he had and said they would be back out with the cash difference. They didn’t come back with any cash and I found a fly baked into the cheese on my pizza, the little bastard must have had a suicide wish settling himself onto the pizza before it went in the oven!! Luckily I saw his legs before I ate him!! 😂 will obviously still go back because they make absolutely banging pizza!! Would be nice to have the refund from this one for next time though!!

I've given 4 stars because the staff are excellent, kind & friendly - probably 5 stars for them! Unfortunately I love my cups of tea & it just doesn't quite measure up here. I know the tag on the teabag string says it should be brewed for 3-5 minutes, but even then you're lucky if the tea can climb out of the pot because it's still too weak..... It takes quite a lot longer for a decent strength of tea to be ready. My other little gripe is the amount of liquid that comes out of the teapot, but not via the spout. I eventually worked out I needed to anchor the teabag at the back of the pot so it didn't block the hole to the spout. So I did, more or less, get a decent cup of tea. Sadly the cake I chose (a viennese whirl) turned out to be stodgy & sickly, but I have to say this is the first time I haven't been overjoyed with my selection.

We popped into the cafĂ© during a visit and was genuinely impressed. The setting is lovely—light, airy, and full of plants, giving it a relaxing, garden feel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. I had a homemade quiche with salad and a pot of tea, all fresh and well-presented. Plenty of cakes to choose from too, including a great gluten-free selection. A perfect stop whether you're plant shopping or just fancy a nice lunch in peaceful surroundings. Will definitely be back!
