Absolutely disgusting and very rude staff, paid for food chips were rock hard looked liked yesterday recooked chicken was like rubber and salad probably a week out of date as in picture I posted asked for a refund lady was away 10-15 mins before she came back with half what we paid so I asked her to come back over and asked why a part refund she said kids had eaten some of the chips and I had took a bit out of one cheesy potato skins which I told her how would I know if I liked it until I took a bit so she got us a refund eventually and told us to never come back as we always do this when we eat here haven’t eaten there since my son was born over 9 years ago when we used to go about once or twice a month with my partners brother and wife the women who runs the pub eventually came out and said I can’t see what your complaining for you have had your money back well if I wasn’t spoke to like this and accused of regularly doing this in the first place there would have been no problem told here the beer etc we had was nice no complaints about that she then told me to leave which I replied I will finish my drink and leave once I had as I wasn’t in the wrong then her husband I think came out the back trying to be clever ringing police and trying to get me to bite which I was very close to he even walked into the bar and told someone I was mad standing spinning his finger at the side of his head asked him why he was telling people I was mad and he said I’ve just got an itchy head been going out for meals all over the north east every weekend at least twice a week for several years and never been spoken to or accused of anything like...

An ideal local for surrounding residents or those dropping by while travelling although a little off the beaten track for the latter. Decent range of drinks and the food is always good and quickly delivered. I myself today enjoyed a couple of Stellas and the peri peri chicken nachos, delicious to say the least, and my mate Michael concurred, tremendously enjoying his John Smiths too while sharing the nachos, which wasn't a problem due to the size of the portion 😋 Attentive, welcoming bar staff, and a good mix of seemingly regulars who were all friendly and, like us, enjoying a Friday afternoon drop of relaxation. Plenty of outside seating both out front next to the car park and also the beer garden at the rear. Bravo. Plenty for all including families, although today was beautifully sprog-free. I love children but I couldn't eat...

Went for a combined mother's day and birthday meal the other week and I'm so sorry but the quality of food was awful, the meat tasted like a boil in the bag roast beef and the vegetables and roast potatoes were clearly frozen and the Yorkshires were burnt, this was such a let down when you have to pay an extra £1 a Yorkshire and around £2 extra for roasties, you'd expect quality, we were practically the only family there and I did think it was strange as it was mother's day, I expected it to be busy but this explains it. Our drinks never even came to the table and we had finished what we could eat of the food before just leaving after waiting, Unfortunately I will not be back and wouldnt recommend to anyone...
