Blue Bar — Restaurant in England

We were staying in town for four nights. Tried to get dinner at another place, was fully booked. After a quick walk we ended up here. And were pleasantly surprised.

Location couldn't be better. Right at the wonderful beach. Having dinner, some beers and watching the sun going down. Fantastic.

There are a good number of tables outside. Depending on the day it can get windy though. Plenty of tables inside as well, some with great views as well. You order at the bar and the food and drinks will be brought to your table. Staff was very friendly, food arrived pretty quick and prices are fair.

There are no reservations and the place is well visited. Even so, it wasn't a problem getting a table even on a weekend. Just a really short wait.

We were very happy on our first night, so came back two more times. Had twice the Burger. Nice chips, good meat quality, nice flavour from the grill. Had chicken tacos and fish tacos. Especially the chicken tacos were very nice. Fresh and filled with some nice crispy veggies. Also had a ciabatta chicken sandwich - ok, but not great. And a peperoni (salami) pizza, which was very good.

Sometimes wine, sometimes beer, sometimes some cider with the meals.

All in all it's easy beach-bar food. But it's fresh, it's well cooked and enjoyable. Together with the fantastic location I'd say it's the best place to grab...

The food as usual was great. Especially for those who had the Mussels. "Best mussels I've ever had anywhere" according to one of our party. However, what made the experience an exceptional 5 ☆ were the staff. They gave really friendly and attentive service. We have a Staffy Ridgeback cross called Toby that we rescued from dog fighters. He was bred for fighting but, didn't have the right temperament so was tied to a post for other dogs to attack for training purposes. He gets scared around some bigger dogs and reacted to a couple of dogs there (not their fault at all). All the staff were so concerned for him that they helped us re--seat outside & gave him some doggy ice cream (on the house) to calm him down. We visit the blue bar quite often, brilliant views, just off the beach, the last two times it been just satisfactory, some members of staff have appeared very hung over from the night before, (there words) and wasn't the most pleasant to order with, they chop and change what's available from the menu and make it sound like they never did it before, gave a smaller portion of a smoothie for the same price, It feels like cutting corners rather than putting up the price which is on the up market side, my food this time was over cooked, we are going to give it another go to see if it's something that is going to improve, just to be clear it has been a brilliant place to go to, up in till the...
