Sorry to say we would not recommend this. So many other restaurants with a view. Such a shame it feels like it's being used as a cash cow... Wake up to the competition! Firstly there is an issue with only being able to order online or at McDonald's style booth which alienates the less tech savvy (older?) Clients. Bar area has very poor acoustics made worse by the practice of collecting and stacking glasses creating a continuous crashing sound. The bar itself being attractive and well designed is destroyed by being surrounded by trays of cleaned glasses and napkins. Looks like a kitchen. This is all back of house stuff that should be back of house; not in front of the diners! It is probably the crashiest dining area we've been to in quite a while. I feel we 're dining in the kitchen! Took an hour to get served then to be told at 8pm it was last orders time. Sunday. Restaurants usually mean table service but there is absolutely no service here at all. Party of 14 in front of us were turned away due to an error- a side effect of only being able to book online- again a exclusive and non personal. The only way this can exist as a going concern is the view and not having to rely on repeat custom. Staff themselves are great it is the structure and organisation at fault. The food itself is good, no real issue, solid pub grub at pub price. If anyone from the management actually reads this review please do not dismiss this as  wild rant. We have been to many many restaurants and establishments of varying degrees of customer comment but this is such a shame for so nice a venue and staff to be spoilt by poor organisation. I suspect this is a throwback to the covid need to reduce personal contact but the result is an online virtual ordering experience serviced in a noisy kitchen environment by willing but constrained staff who clearly want to go home. The staff tee shirts have the SAFE message to us to: Stay seated,  App ordering, Feel safe, Enjoy the view. Dated message and condescending tone- move on and welcome guests to your venue and not make them feel like they've entered an episode of Hells Kitchen!

We always try to pay a visit here when we holiday in Cornwall. This is an update to my previous review, of which I highly recommended a visit. The Bowgie Inn was in the middle of some major renovation/update work the last time we went. This was very evident when we arrived. The old pub style and atmosphere had completely gone. You can no longer go to the bar to order a drink, it has to be done via their app or on a screen similar to what you might find in McDonald's. After being seated, we looked at the menu via the app only to find that it had been trimmed down that much that we all struggled to find anything we wanted to eat. 3 of ordered the ribs at just under £20 each, the other ordered mac and cheese. When our food arrived, one of the salads that came with the ribs had cucumber in it, the other 2 didn't. Odd but not major. The fact that some of the salad was going brown (as in old) was quite disappointing. The ribs themselves looked like vacuum packed ones that had been microwaved. The chips looked like twice cooked, although it didn't mention this on the menu. Very nice and crispy, but when you tried to stab one with your fork, you could see the grease coming out of them. It appears that the food prices have rocketed and the quality plummeted, maybe to pay for all the renovation work. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal, and I doubt whether we will be returning.

Weird and disappointing experience on Friday. Hadn't been here for several years so decided to have an evening stroll nearby and then some food. Good points The refurbishment since i last came has made this place a lovely venue. Lovely decor and finish to the building with lots of different types of seating areas. Staff were really friendly. Amazing View. Beer was pretty good although a bit pricey. Bad Points Parking - customer car park was full so had to pay £5. The whole ordering system seemed quite inefficient, especially as it was quiet. Option to pay for a tip before you've had you're food was wierd. Annoying buzzing at the bar every few minutes, I assume as notification from the kitchen that food was ready. Then the food.... for the price it was awful. My lasagne didnt look great, it was pretty bland and the mince was like mush. My partner said her curry tasted like a microwave meal and added naan bread was like a multi pack from morrisons. It feels like this place is a cash cow for ripping off tourists. Definitely get better food quality at Wetherspoons. Shame as it has a really nice venue and views. Whoever provides their microwaves was definitely quids in.

Underwhelming. You have to order on website/app - still! Clearly as they are short staffed. However you’re expected to pay and give a tip upfront when ordering. Therefore hard to judge service and no incentive from staff to make any effort. Expect to pay £5.50 for parking on top of your meal as the pub car park is tiny relative to the number of cover they seat. The menu is a veritable rabbit warren of confusion. Food is ok. Nothing inspiring but arrived quickly and all at the same time. The location/view is stunning but they don’t make the most of it. We’d booked a long time ahead and asked for a sea view. Couldn’t have been further away from the window. We tried to order some tap water in addition to a full round of drinks we were paying for. This wasn’t possible on the app as didn’t put it on our original order and the app won’t accept orders with no £0 value. There were signs everywhere saying no bar service but we asked a waitress who said she’d get it for us. Waters never came and nor did any other waiting staff. We thought about desert but there weren’t any available on the children’s menu and £7.50 seemed too much given the quality of the mains, especially for...
