What a lovely place to spend an evening. We were staying nearby and decided to have a meal and a few drinks here. The food was gorgeous and so obviously homemade as we had to wait a while and it came out piping hot. We went in every night that we were away and ended up eating here twice. The staff were really friendly and chatty, especially Sally (from the valleys) who made us feel really welcome.

Friendly staff, and the food is amazing, big portions and not overpriced 👏, ate here nearly every day of our holiday, and I can highly recommend My favourite dish was the Steak & Ale pie, the Apple cRUMble is delicious (if you have room after your main) The sunday roasts are really nice too, again good portion size (i had a medium) and reasonably priced 👌

Under new ownership. Stopped for lunch and ate in the garden. Friendly welcome. Good burger and chips and excellent value. Had the special leftover from Tuesday night.was £3 cheaper than main menu. It has been tidied up and is a pleasant place for a drink and some food.

Our experience was shocking ...Arrived with our family just before 2pm. My husband checked that food was still being served and that we could be accommodated (5 people, including toddler, a baby and a dog). We all managed to disembark and with pushchair and dog on lead, entered the premises. Waited for a few minutes to see the barman who promptly informed us that service was now finished! It was 2.02pm! He repeated it without any apology or explanation other than referring to an earlier conversation with my husband advising him that we'd have a half hour wait (which we all agreed on). Honestly, we thought he was joking to begin with until he said "as I said service is finished". Couldn't believe what had occurred and had to leave to try and find elsewhere to eat. Turning away business these days is something that I find incredible especially as we were polite and had already checked when we parked....

We booked for my birthday lunch with my family ( 11 of us ) we were greeted as soon as we arrived and taken to our table in a private room which was really private. We were given a very polite young man who would he seeing to all our needs . He was very attentive and checked on us regularly our food took a little longer than usual but we were updated regularly on how long it would be , our food arrived and it was worth the wait , we had a child with allergies and we were impressed that she could have all the options on the children’s menu . We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and even the new owner Rupert came and spoke to us to ask how it had been and any feedback which was very professional , we will definitely book again and highly recommend anyone going to this lovely pub. Thankyou to all the staff...

Came down from Liverpool to Weymouth, rather than eating on site we found this place, absolutely stunning, going to come back here again this week to be honest, staff was lovely and very good with my little boy being funny with my dad's glasses, Good was absolutely delicious and good portions too, very highly recommended, Excellent, thanks!

EDIT: Came again today, All of the staff are incredible, the wait for the food was a little long but that's completely understandable when you receive the food and realise how delicious it is, going back to Liverpool tomorrow but if I'm ever down here again I will be certain to visit here again!! Thank you for such a welcoming...
