We previously used to visit here on a regular basis . The Food although it's not what we would class as blow your mind away it was always decent enough , the staff were friendly and the service overall is what we would say is of a decent standard . The restaurant could do with a good makeover however. On our last visit the restaurant was quiet and there was maybe only a dozen other customers . The Food was as it normally was as was the overall service. The main issue here though was when we left my Wife went to use the ladies lavatory. She immediately came back out and literally ran straight out . She got to the car saying she felt physically sick , basically someone had what can only be described as projectile diahorea everywhere. She said it hadn't happened that recently either so it must have been sometime since the toilets had been checked. I have to say the gents toilets are always pretty smelly and not what I'd class as that clean too in my experience so it's obviously not something the restaurant keep up on . Filthy dirty toilets are totally unacceptable and a health hazard and while I appreciate the restaurant can't totally control customers behaviour in these situations if they did take the time to actually regularly check these facilities then situations such as these would not occur . I have contacted Greene King regarding this bit unfortunately there response was just the standard reply blah , blah , blah

This is a decent pub serving food and drink with a beer garden, plenty of parking and a bit of climbing apparatus for the kids. It used to have ParkingEye on the car park which was annoying as they would even charge taxi drivers for dropping off and picking up but the staff are very friendly and helped me out when I got charged for no reason. It's not a gourmet pub. It's not a cool wine bar but it is a decent place to go, especially with kids. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars but I didn't think it was quite worth 4, especially as when we went, there was a dangerous broken plank and exposed bolt on the playing apparatus. It's average with good (if tired) facilities. I have to comment on the fact it's the only pub I've ever been in on over 40 years on the planet where customers queue in single file!

Absolutely fantastic! From the moment you walk in to tye moment you leave, Will was and is amazing, he is welcoming, friendly and extremely accommodating, the food tastes great and the portion sizes are also great with an even better price, I would recommend this place to anyone who is close by and it is definitely worth the visit, they have a great range of drinks and a brilliant menu, thank you to Will and all the team for making this visit and other visits such a good one, can't wait to return!!!!

This evening, (7th May 2016), I took my family to the Brighton Belle in WInsford for a meal. We chose to occupy an outside table because I was accompanied by two young grandchildren who wanted to play. On arrival we occupied the only table available. The table was dirty and covered with spillages and other detritus left by the previous occupants. Having selected our meals I went to the bar to order and pay. having done so, I informed the bar attendant about the state of the table and asked for it to be cleaned. She said she would attend to it so I took my drinks and left.

After 5 minutes the table had not been cleaned and I did not want my family to be eating off a dirty table. I therefore stopped a passing waitress, pointed out the state of the table to her, and again asked for it to be cleaned before our food arrived. She said she would 'fetch a cloth' and deal with it. She then disappeared never to return.

After several more minutes had elapsed I decided only one course of action was open to me. I therefore returned to the bar and spoke to a different attendant. I told this lady about the state of my table and that my two previous requests for it to be cleaned had been ignored. I then asked her for a cloth so I could clean it myself. Instead of giving me a cloth this lady apologised then instructed a waitress standing nearby to attend to the matter immediately. I then returned to my table but the waitress did not follow me and I never saw her again.

When I arrived back at my table I found that our food had been delivered and the plates had simply been put down on a table which was obviously filthy.

We decided to start eating our food rather than let it go cold then realised we had not been provided with, or offered any condiments. We waited a short while for them to appear but they did not. During this time no waiting staff were visible outside so eventually there was no alternative but for us to go in search of condiments ourselves inside.

Having finished our food we sat whilst finishing our drinks. A waitress came to remove our used plates and I asked her to arrange for me to speak to a supervisor. I was told this might not be possible because the supervisor was 'too busy.' I told the waitress I would wait until we had finished our drinks but insisted on speaking to someone in authority. We left after waiting another 25 minutes because it had started to rain and no one had done me the courtesy of speaking to me.

In addition to the above I can say that during the time I sat consuming my food and drinks I took careful note. I saw waitresses remove dirty plates and glasses from several tables but I did not see one single table being wiped or cleaned, despite the fact that they obviously needed it.

I have been obliged to contact you by email because pub supervision chose not to confront me and discuss my complaint. I now leave matters in your hands. Staff customer service, which is none existent, is a matter for you to reflect on but I cannot but wonder what the environmental health authorities would make of your poor hygiene practices if they knew.

For me you scored 0/10 for customer service and 0/10 for hygiene practices. Needless to say I will not return to this establishment again, nor will I recommend it to anyone else. Unfortunately your policy requires customers to pay for their meal at the tome of ordering rather than after consumption so it was not possible for me to make a deduction from my bill for the horrendous service I received. You score one star on this review because I could not post it without giving you at least that much. In truth though you do not...
