The kids had a great time. But unfortunately it was chaotic with the staff unable to cope and manage at busy times. Despite tables being unoccupied we were not sure about it as the tables were not cleared. after waiting and observing for about 30 mins when I approached a staff member to check if a certain table was occupied or not, she had no clue. Finally after 10 more mins when I approached another staff member who had served me at the till, she was able to comfirm that the table which I had my eye on since I came in was actually available and she cleared it up for us. Thank You (sorry didnt get your name) . Now we had purchased a meal deal each for two kids and an adult meal. But when the food came 1 child meal was missing because they thought I only paid for an adult meal. Even though I had handed two child meal Tokens. Luckily for me she remembered it and informed the kitchen to prepare our second child meal no apologies or nothing for our extra wait and me having to eat the child meal due to the wait . It is ok we understand sometimes it is not easy to accept little mistakes so its all cool.
It doesn't end there.... The drinks we ordered for the kids were wrong and rectifying it seemed to be like claiming back a PPI. And finally we were short changed after the drinks confusion and me paying extra for the drinks because while I was being served another staff member just decided to serve another customer using the same till and messing up my balance in the till for my server. (that's what it looked like from this side kf the till)
She had to ask me "How much do you think we owe you? "
All in all... A very good experience for the kids but not so much for me as a parent.
Rant Over.
Will still be visiting again...
Read moreAfter spending one hour and 45 minutes at polar Palace (1 hour spent waiting for food which was raw pizza covered in chunks of garlic ), my family and friends came away starving, dissatisfied and FREEZING!!!
The kids equipment is filthy and overall just has a dark feeling about the whole place!
If ‘polar palace’ is trying to live up to its name then well done!! It’s about -1° in there. Never to return folks !!!!
If I were to make a suggestion, it is to have more staff than 1 in the kitchen and 1 out in the front with a roomful of customers or have adequately trained staff!!
Photos are some equiptment from the kids kitchen!!! Filthy
EDIT: your response to this review and many other negative ones is very condescending. We visited midday, I don’t think dried up dirt on a toy shows ‘regular cleaning’ and I definitely don’t think it would have got so filthy within just a matter of hours of your opening time. Just to note aswell, when I then explained my frustrations to your manager, she was then going around cleaning up. Does it take a first time customer for you to do simple tasks? And for the pizza, did you eat it yourself? I wouldn’t even feed my dog that clumpy garlic pizza. Not to mention the really sad panini I received 15 mins before our session ended which was filled with what looked like half a piece of bacon cut up, and gone off cranberry! Cold chips and browned salad! I didn’t even touch it and just left it at your unmanned till for you to see for yourself. 1 hour wait time for that was just unacceptable!! I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt from the first 15 minutes of my visit but unfortunately I will not even recommend this place to my...
Read moreOverpriced. Paid 9 quid for a 4 year old who isn't supposed to be allowed on the larger part of the play area. This was attending a party but she wasn't on the party list so had to pay for her to join even though the party hired out the whole place privately. This didn't include food so I had to pay another 5 pound totaling £14 for 90 mins play and include food which was shocking. Cold slice of pizza , a chopped up cheap sausage, a 4 square mini waffle and about 9 wotsits. The staff were OK. I suppose the pricing or food quality isn't their fault but other than that I felt a bit ripped off. Coffee was best part of a 5er I think and that was lukewarm.. there's definitely better value for money at other play areas. Theres no clarity on what this will cost before you visit as price list isn't available anywhere either so not sure if they make it up as they go along. I can see why. I doubt they'd get many visitors if they knew the price in advance. But once you're there you have to pay because how do you turn up with your kids then tell them they're not going in and upset them. Levaes you with no choice but to pay to avoid disappointing your kids and...
