We were back to 'Lounge on the Green' for their seven course dinner menu, this time with the additional wine flight. As previously the food was superb, served in a timely way so you never felt rushed or hanging around for the next course. Portions were sized just right so you were neither left hungry or over-stuffed.

The wine flight was also well matched to the food as you would expect, and as my partner doesn't like red wine they replaced them with suitable whites without quibble. In particular the Hungarian Tokay Furmint and the Elysium Black Muscat were particularly memorable.

Some may see the wine flight as an expensive option, however consider that the chef and sommelier are working together and combining their experience to ensure that you are getting something that compliments each course, and to make it an integral part of the experience. Each course comes with a different wine, so at the very worst you are getting the opportunity to sample a wide range of different wines and you may discover new favourites. If you enjoy the food, do try the...

Having heard such wonderful things (and seen wonderful pictures) I must admit that I arrived slightly worried that it wouldn't be able to meet our expectations. Incredibly, the experience somehow surpassed them.

Every course was simply stunning, and would have been the highlight of any other meal. I've been fortunate enough to eat in many acclaimed and accomplished restaurants, but none have produced a menu as thoroughly and consistently fantastic as this. The love, expertise and prowess of all involved is apparent in every component of every dish. And the service was attentive, friendly and rightly proud.

To pinpoint any particular dish would be impossible, but I must point out that the turnip, ginger and pear concoction took ingredients I thought I could never enjoy and made them the star of the meal. Also the biscuit and blue cheese granita was perhaps the greatest thing I've ever tasted. Our pictures honestly do not do them justice. An absolute gem of a restaurant, whose acclaim and reputation however lofty and deserved still...

We went here for a galentine's coffee date celebration of my friend with my wee one. The place is alright and quite cozy but tight for space. The blondie tray bake of my friend is fine, my wee ones chocolate ice cream is okay and our coffees which is a latte and capuccino is presented pretty much the same with other cafes. However the cake Ive ordered is actually very dry which I actually didnt enjoyed at all. Im just really hesitant to make a scene nor complain. But its not really nice. My friend also didnt tried it at all. Paid almost 18£ in the end. I think to go an extra distance and face the traffic from town to this location isnt worth the price at all. And I also asked for a glass of water prior paying. Were clearly less people when we arrived since they are nearly closing but it took 12 minutes of waiting for me to have it. I didnt complained at all when I was there and not complaining here at all too. Im just basically sharing my 1st time experience still im giving them 3...

I took my wife, daughter and mother in law for a special treat on Mothering Sunday. Well what a fantastic time we had! This is a small unassuming restaurant that would not be misplaced if it was in central London rather than asleep village just outside Carlisle. It's an absolute gem. The food is well executed with precision and dexterity. We had five courses of sublime taste sensations; the beetroot dish being my favourite. The intensity and subtlety of flavours sets it apart from the mainstream. This is next level stuff! The service was efficient, warm and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. I cannot recommend this highly enough to customers or Michelin. This place is THAT good... wonderful!

First visit. Perfect for quick stops if you've booked a table or takeaway. If you want to stay for more than 90 minutes, this is not the place. The food was brilliant. We all chose our favourite breakfast options with a drink, followed by a sweet treat. The sweets are legendary, our original reason for giving the cafe a go. We're gonna stick with takeaway cake in the future. Parking is difficult at the location, so parking further away and walking, especially in good weather, is recommended. The cafe is dog friendly, for the well-behaved only, 3 barks and you're out.
