Cast Iron Grill — Restaurant in England

Service was ok, Had to wait a while before someone came up to us with a drink or food menu. Mind you, there were only 3 people in the bar. But when you're from abroad or not fimilar with customs it of this place, it can be a bit unclear. But apparently, you order at the bar. The food was not great. I had the cast iron burger. I think this was the driest burger I ever ate. Had a hard time chewing an even harder time swallowing. I think my trachea is forever scared. I had to wash every bite down with my drink.. the Chipotle sauce I don't know but didn't taste like it nor did it help the meat patty go down. The whole thing was just bland and dry. Fries where ok. Food was actually quite nice here (I would compare it to a harvester or similar) service from general staff was ok, however managers make up their own rules. We had booked online where it was clearly marked up that kids are free when an adult had a main meal. When coming to pay, the manager decided that the offer was only for people staying at the hotel. I have trawled through the website but cannot see this as a stipulation anywhere. Maybe if someone answered the phone they'd be able to point me in the right direction?! It's a shame something so small has left such a bitter taste in my mouth, as we pay a considerable sum to be part of the leisure club at the Marriott hotels who look after...

The food was great, but the wait was far too long.

We went two nights in a row, the first night we waited ages to get our food (and there were only two other tables occupied). The second evening it was busier so we asked how long it would take to get food and were told that it would depend on what we ordered - “a burger should take 20mins in any restaurant” we were told. So we ordered a ‘light bite’ pasta and fish and chips - 38mins later and our food arrived.
