Lovely friendly cafe. We was able to ask to be seated next when some seats free up for our group of 5. We didn't wait long outside in the sun. We had a variety of different offerings including the cream tea. Positives... Really friendly staff and really helpful. Nice tasting tea (black and herbal) and nice homemade cream tea. Improvements... There was an off putting bleach smell from when they clean the tables which I dislike when eating. The rice in the budda bowls (teriyaki salmon and thai chicken) was quite hard and undercooked so not so pleasant to eat but if you ignore the rice it was very flavoursome. Highlights... The best part was probably the cakes, they were nice. Conclusion... Overall I would still give them full marks but would hope they take on some constructive criticism to improve. They also offer a takeaway service which seems very convenient so you can take cakes in a little box for later or find yourself somewhere else to eat.

After enjoying a lovely cycle down Camel Trial, my partner and I fancied a coffee and a light lunch. Cherry Trees Coffee House seemed just the ticket. It was crammed but we were found a seat in a manner of minutes quite fortunate really as a sudden queue formed straight after. We had coffee and shared a giant award winning pastie with a side salad each. It was very very good! Not dry and crumbly with plenty of taste and moisture. We gobbled it up so quickly I didn't even get a picture! We couldn't help ourselves but to have a piece of cake EACH! Woops! Both were generous portions and we could have shared one piece but it was too tempting. The lemon meringue pie and the banana chocolate cake were both beautifully contrasting, zingy vs rich. The cakes were so well baked I'm sure the baker would get a Paul Hollywood handshake. So if you are reading Paul, do give this place a visit!

Cherry Trees is a small coffee house bang in the middle of Padstow and had several vegan options on the menu, so we called in for breakfast. On a Sunday morning we got there on opening at 8.30 am, which was a smart move as it quickly filled up, with a queue forming outside. We ordered a decaf tea with oat milk, a decaf Americano, a vegan sunrise breakfast and a vegan toastie. The food was delicious and just the ticket, my toastie had plenty filling and hubby enjoyed his breakfast, we left clean plates and it made for an enjoyable start to the day. There were several cakes in the display cabinet, including a rather lush looking lemon and blueberry cake, so we are going to go back for coffee and cake. Cherry Trees is a family run business, owned by Emma whose mum and sister work alongside her, so its good to support the small independent, especially when they cater for vegans.

We have been visiting Cornwall for over 30 years, and have visited Padstow and Cherry Trees for quite a few years and have had many delicious meals inside the coffee shop.

On this particular occasion we bought cake to take away, the young girl at the outside counter was so rude when I asked her if we could have a fresh slice of fruit pavlova & not the slice that was placed on a plate in the counter, she proceeded to tell me not just once but 5 TIMES that it was the same pavlova.I pointed out to her on each occasion very politely that we would like a fresh piece as the other one didn’t look as fresh.

When she eventually gave me a fresher slice along with a second cake we ordered, she passed these abruptly to me, & without napkins or forks & or in a take away bag, I asked her if we could have them packed with forks & napkins as is usually the case when we buy takeaway items, and she proceeded to behave like a very stroppy teenager stuffing forks & napkins in the bag, like a child throwing her toys out of the pram, & who couldn’t get her own way.

I asked her for her first name & she completely refused, I explained to her that she should be ashamed of herself for behaving like that, & I would be speaking to her manager, as she was very unprofessional & rude.

It is such a shame that this person was so rude & did not represent Cherry’s as it deserves to be. Our experience of other staff at Cherry’s over many years of visiting has been a really positive one, & our 1 star is a complete reflection of this persons rude attitude &...

While wandering around Padstow we came across the lovely looking shop and the sweet treats in the display caught our eye. They looked delicious and we decided to get a selection. The lady who served us was friendly but did pull a slight face when I said I would like a bag after she offered, like it was an inconvenience that I said yes. Think this was because she was holding all four items in one hand and getting the bag was a bit tricky but did think it unnecessary as she could have put them down. She had also dropped one of our items and was holding the bag by the edge so it looked like the item was about to fall out onto the floor. Nothing major but just added to our experience. We were excited to try everything when we got home but were very disappointed to find that everything we got was incredibly dry. Very little flavour except for the chocolate on top. We ordered a Nutella and bounty cookie which looked lovely and chunky, like they should be soft and chewy but unfortunately they were dry and bland throughout. We also ordered a rocky road which was like a gingerbread block but the cherry and marshmallows were lovely in this. We lastly ordered a walnut slice which was the only thing that had some moisture in and a better taste but still was not worth what of all of this cost us. Very disappointed in everything we got and would not go back again.

Items also did not list any allergens or say if anything was vegetarian/vegan/gluten free and there were not many vegetarian...

Well, what a brilliant harbourside cafe. Myself and my children were welcomed and we were lucky to be seated straight away. The kids were given chalkboards & chalk to play with. Child portions of the breakfast pancakes are available and our changes such as 'no yoghurt' and 'only syrup' weren't a problem at all. The strawberry option came loaded with strawberries and my boys loved them. My youngest even got small plastic cutlery provided and they all had apple juice boxes. I had a cooked breakfast with gluten-free toast and my pot of tea served me 3 cups worth. Whilst there I saw they made their own gluten-free scones so I very happily ordered a cornish gf cream tea to go and I can now confirm it was delicious...light fluffy scones that didn't disappoint. The cafe has toilets also. My only constructive feedback would be that the breakfast could be better, my bacon and egg were overcooked and I did not like the potato at all (very oniony). All in all this is a Padstow Harbour gem with lovely staff and good value food and I'm glad I found it online and...
