Massively overpriced.

Wow fantastic response from the owner, think I touched a nerve, truth hurts. It seems you assumed I didn't know the cost of businesses? How do you know that? I know enough to know the ice cream was out of tubs, wouldn't be so bad if it was homemade on site & I'm aware it's from a Cumbrian well known supplier the ice cream was actually very nice & should be for the cost. Don't worry, a flask of ice cream & a stale sandwich sounds better & cheaper, thanks for the advice.

2nd RESPONSE I'm certainly not on any mission to hurt your business & I can assure you I'm perfectly entitled to say if I think it's over priced as a paying customer on a review-abled platform. I'm not sure if your sarcasm unprofessionalism attitude & arrogance in your responses are out of denial or just hurt feelings as I said previously.

I've checked other reviews of a similar nature & it seems some don't have a response. A whisky barrel isn't necessary for the ice cream as you suggested just because you own a business don't assume you know what others don't know about business costs.

However what I received on the day wasn't worth the money hence massively over priced & the drop in stars is simply your first response with suggestions unprofessionalism & assumptions talking to me like I'm stupid.

I've dropped 1 more star because clearly that continues which only cements the review.

I would have left at massively overpriced but as you'll see from your 1st & 2nd response I won't be accused of trying to hurt business because your prices are high that's certainly not my fault or be spoken to with such nastiness.

But it seems reading through some of your previous responses to other customers when you don't like a review you see I'm not the first to be spoken to in a disgusting way.

We initially drove past here whilst staying in Walney on the way to Ulverston and it was shut, however, after getting a light lunch in Ulverston we travelled back along the coast road about half an hour later and luckily it was open.

We had only planned on grabbing a coffee to see what it was like and seeing what was on offer but the sight of the homemade (?) gingerbread at the counter was too much to resist with the glistening chunks of stem ginger on the gloriously sticky looking top and both were lovely (although as a lover of gingerbread, even more ginger flavour in the cake itself wouldn't be a problem!).

We will definitely go back as we are currently here for another week or so as the ice-cream flavours on offer are just too tempting.

The lady who served me was also lovely...

Went with family for food and ice cream. There is a large variety of ice cream flavours, 3 of which I had in a tub with a chocolate flake 😋. There is also a selection of hot food and sandwiches. On a beautiful sunny day it was a pleasure to sit in the sheltered garden and enjoy good food with a great view of Bardsea. There is a parking area across the road with unobstructed view across Morecambe Bay. A great little place for a relaxing pit-stop, or a longer stay.
