We stayed 3 nights as a family with an 11 year old kid and our overall experience was great. But there are still some small issues with the room (Apartment 8) so I gave it 4 stars; - The TV in the room has an old ChromeCast, so you need to cast your own device. That's fine if it works but it is not stable and connection drops in every 5-10 mins. So, if you plan to watch TV in your room, your experience will not be the best. - Their WiFi connection is not secure. Which means anyone with related knowledge can monitor your internet traffic easily. I strongly suggest using VPN or mobile network for critical actions like banking etc. - Their heating system had been stopping especially during nights, so the room was cold and I had to wake up and restart the heating system. - The spa area was busy sometimes. As I mentioned at the beginning, except these issues, we had a good experience and I can confidently suggest to families with kids.

China Fleet country club, always thought high things of this place and only visited a handful of times. Now I'm here monthly for work and all I can say is scratch the surface and it makes me uncomfortable. I have been in many leisure centres over the years (as I work in that industry) and on closer inspection this place does leave a huge amount to desire. The slide looks dangerous shaking even when the smallest of children go down it with rust showing on the outside of the slide. Plugs in the sports hall area are cracked and needing repair, they seem to pull away from the wall slightly if you plug anything in... Then there's the cafe... Granted they were very busy today, but tables not kept on top of cleaning wise between customers. On the surface yes a lovely place which looks very posh, but not somewhere I would take my little boy nor will I ever been ordering a drink or any food here ever again

This hotel is set in 180 acres of exquisite countryside, on the cusp of Devon and Cornwall, China Fleet is one of the South West’s leading country clubs. Just 15 minutes from Plymouth’s city centre, sitting on the stunning Tamar estuary, it provides the perfect opportunity for a break away from suburban life. Whatever your age, interests or work pattern, you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll love at China Fleet. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the team is dedicated to making sure you have an enjoyable visit each and every time and are always working to meet your needs in any way possible. With an extensive offering to suit all lifestyles, you can visit to work, rest or play, making the most of our 4 staraccommodation, Health Club - leisure facilities, golf, dining in the Brasserie rrestaurant, spa, events or meeting room facilities in a truly breath-taking location.

My family of four adults spent a most memorable four-day break during our first visit to the China Fleet Country Club, Saltash. The club is set in a spectacular, well maintained site on Cornish western bank of the River Tamar overlooking its Devon bank around the Tavy Rail Bridge. ||We were immediately made very welcome when greeted at the Reception Desk. Throughout our stay, we were all impressed by the pleasant professionalism of the club staff (Reception, House-keeping, Brasserie and Health Club who ensured proactively that we were enjoying our holiday. ||We were also most impressed by our Acorn Cottage’s furnishings, fittings and inventory of they were well thought-out and presented to a very high standard. The cottage proved to be ideal for our four-strong party but there may be some disadvantages if a fifth adult guest sleeps on the sofa bed in the living room.||We enjoyed our extensive hearty breakfasts especially sampling the diverse choices of the cooked breakfast ably supported by cheerful and hospitable waitresses.||We also enjoyed taking advantage of the diverse range of excellent health club facilities. as well as a very good selection of tasty cooked breakfasts to start the day.||We do not play golf so did not take advantage of the superb golf-course but our youngsters admired the spectacular views strolling around the Club's internal Nature/Fairy Trail. Instead we visited the nearby beaches and harbours around Whitsands Bay by car and took advantage of the subsidized Cornish rail-deals to travel from Saltash to St ives by train. ||The China Fleet Country Club is a hidden gem. We wished that we had known of it long before and look forward to revisiting...

Absolutely fabulous. Ryder Cup Event. 44 golfers. One night 2 rounds of golf. Check in was seamless. Incredibly friendly girl on reception, nothing too much trouble. Bed, breakfast and evening meal included. Exceptional value for money. Accommodation fantastic. Booked Apartments and cottage. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and relaxing sitting room. Breakfast excellent. Selection of hot and cold choices. Evening meal huge portions with a great selection of starters, main and desserts. Served up efficiently by very friendly staff. Kevin communicated with me throughout. Nothing too much trouble. Tea and coffee after dinner and all in our own private room with a bar. Sports Lounge. Basically the club house. Is comfortable and relaxing with a view of hole 1. A good selection of bar food. I had the Bacon, Chicken and Avocado salad. Huge portion, well priced and tasty. Pro shop staff very friendly and accommodating. Liased prior to my visit and everything spot on. Our NTP and LD all branded in colour with Ryder Cup logos. All the staff I encountered were personable and knowledgeable. Ben Waters Golf and Estates Manager was incredibly helpful, from menu choices, rooming lists and booking the Crazy Golf ahead of our visit. Ben made a point of meeting me to check our visit had met expectations. TOTALLY EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. The course was a real challenge. Kept you focused. Nothing easy. The greens are well watered and lush! If you had to force me to make a negative comment there is no outdoor area to enjoy a drink as a group. But not a deal breaker. The only disappointing thing from the weekend was the Europe win! 😁 highly highly recommend for any golfing...

Sadly we didn't stay, we planned a weeks holiday 2 weeks ago, our son is in the Navy so we wanted to take the opportunity to come down and spend some precious time with him, I phoned up and was quoted a Military Families price, for myself, hubby and our 28 yr old daughter, I decided to check prices on another site as it sounded expensive, it was actually £8 a NIGHT cheaper on a comparison website, on calling back to explain this, the lady was rude, and had a don't care attitude, wasn't willing to even match the price!! Honestly I found it disgusting that they use the MILITARY name for so called discount, that obviously isn't, added to there was no refund of deposit or money should the current situation change, we booked an Air B&B that was a LOT cheaper AND guarenteed full refund of monies should situation change. The abuse of the MILITARY name has angered me so much. Added to this as a NAVY Mum, we have a Facebook page, some of the mum's have lost deposits and money booking here due to changes in the situation and Navy changes which are not our fault, if you are going to profess to being a Military families establishment you need to understand how the military works, and to take deposits and money from Military families is nothing less than shameful. Bad reviews spread faster than good, and the Royal Navy are a tight knit family, at the moment people are advising not to bother with you, and that's killing you some weekly patrons as our children go through HMS Rayleigh and Pass Off. We come down to celebrate and be proud of our boys and girls NOT to get ripped off by you. Shameful abuse of the...
