Not often in Hull . So been a few yrs since having a meal here. Last time was fabulous, service, atmosphere but above all & most importantly the food was delicious. Booked for 8.30 , but obviously too late because really felt the staff wanted us in & out ! Must of been 3 to 4 minutes between giving the order & starters on the table. HOW ? Mixed starter inc. Ribs with no meat just skin ! The waitress, no more than 12ft from glaring & dying for us to finish. If she smiled her face would of cracked bless her. Between clearing the starter & bringing out the main , not kidding 2 to 3 minutes ! The food awful, duck stuffed with prawn meat, no taste of prawns, & parts of the duck that was over cooked in the microwave was rock hard , never seen so many raw tomatoes thrown over my partners & my main course. Singapore noodles, just a solid block. Clearing the main in a hurry saying do you want ice cream. Tables leaving & leaving food, when asked do you want it boxing all saying no leave it. While eating the main a guy hoovering ft from us. Having been there just an hour said to the Mrs think we better make a move. Framed newspaper clipping all over, yellow with age . Best chinese in Hull. There all dated around 2001 for God sake 🙄 The owners really need to start replying to a few of the reviews people leave. Picture of the duck stuffed with prawn meat. Or what it's spose to be !! Can't ever see us going back, but if we did, would ask to see the kitchen. If it's not busy you have a right too be shown.

A family tradition, each year on Christmas Eve, we go to eat out as a family tonight. we went to China Red, we preBooked ages ago, and the food was brilliant, and the service was really nice. I highly recommend visiting. we really enjoyed everything we had to eat There was only one small issue. we prebooked a table ages ago but couldn't get one in the main area, which was a little disappointing But we got a complimentary wine and a box of chocolates, which was fantastic of them

We had just arrived at our holiday cottage in Dunswell, and read the good reviews of this establishment, so decided to give it a try. We ordered chow mein and special fried rice, and it was roughly a tenner each. We ordered it on the phone, and picked it up ½ hour later. It was absolutely delicious and it was a large portion...if you have a small appetite 2 people would be happy with one meal. All in all, a great experience.

China Red never fails to please. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is good and plenty of it. Some people may feel its a tad bit expensive but I don't think its to bad. Ive also had takeaways from here and overall theyve been really good. But we ordered a takeaway a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely awful. The meat was just inedible and the sauce was just tasteless and oily. It was so bad we actually rung to complain which didn't go down to well with them. They were quite rude and basically said they didn't care. This has put us off a takeaway but because we've had so many nice meals we have gone back but the takeaway is the reason I only gave...

This is a good Chinese restaurant with really friendly staff and a menu with a good range of options. There are dishes that you would see at most Chinese restaurants as well as some that are less common, which is always nice to see. They are happy to make reasonable changes to dishes for you. Allergens are labeled on the menu and we've eaten here several times with no issues with allergen cross contamination, even when we haven't specifically pointed it out. The building is an old English pub so from the outside you might not realise that it is a Chinese restaurant, making it feel like a bit of a hidden gem to me! I've visited several times now and will definitely...
