Dear Cost Coffee RE: Serious compliant about EXCEPTIONAL Poor Service at Unit 4, NEXT, Wren Retail Park, Browns Bridge Rd, Torquay TQ2 7BJ
After parking out car at the willows today we walked up to Costa (which is based in Next at the Wren retail park).
We arrived there at EXACTLY 6.17pm and asked if we could still get a coffee (even though it clearly states 6.30pm) - our bank card transaction shows 6.21pm.
The Guy behind the counter (with strange hair) said, “Yes we are still open until 6.30pm then we close”, so we asked for 2 coffees and cakes plus snacks.
We then paid for the above (once again shows time on our costa app and bank card transaction), and the guy then made our drinks and food. When he handed the drinks to us, we went to sit down and he said, “Sorry you cannot sit down!” we asked why since it was only 6.24pm he said we are closed.
I then said to him “How come you allowed the people in front of us to sit down?” he just smiled...!!! I also said to him “Why did you not tell us that we could not sit down since we would not have bought food and drinks?” at this point he just had a pathetic SMERK on his face...!! with NO response.
Very annoyed we had to take our coffees and food outside where there was NOWHERE to sit, and it was pouring with rain - BUT here’s the main point only minutes before he allowed the couple in front to us to sit down. There were about 11 people sitting down at the time - the last people left about 6.47pm - since we took note and stood outside FURIOUS that this “IDIOT” did not tell us before we placed out order!!!
So here we have 2 possibilities...!! A) The Guy did not give a dam and was trying to be as awkward as possible B) He was not being awkward but suffers from being a total Moronic Idiot - hence he is not responsible for his actions as a MORON. Please advise to which satisfies the above??
I also want my money reimbursed otherwise I will keep posting this everywhere until this happens!!
This is the worst service at ANY costa we have ever received! If you look at my Costa number, you will see we have been a LOT of places.
The, Let’s say “MORON” needs to discipline and potentially dismissed.

Read moreI would avoid at busy times as they’re very disorganised, only 1 staff member taking orders and money, making the food and drinks and washing things up. The queue was all along the counter and round into Next and the other staff member was just pricing up on the shelves. Another staff member was clearing tables. It’s understandable places can get busy but there was no apology or acknowledgment of how long people had been waiting (20-30 minutes) and no thought about redistributing where staff were (surely pricing on the shelves can wait!). Also felt unhygienic that the person handling cash was then also touching all the cups handles food plates etc. Once we eventually got our food and drinks, the toastie had not even been cut in half. The cheese (all only on one side) was sliding out but no napkin provided and none available to grab yourself. Green tea appeared to have a flavour to it which was not what was asked for. How often are the toilets checked? - grubby already and only 11am. Sat down at a table where the previous customers had loaded up their tray with their dirty pots.
