Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Very happy to see a new branch of Costa opening up in town however, was left somewhat short of happy with the experience in store for my first visit.

It is a shame to say that our experience wasn’t so great, as there were some really friendly members of staff in the store, however the girl who served us was pretty miserable and abrupt - not really someone you want serving customers on a till. There was no greeting or communication, just a ‘what do you want?’.

I am aware that it is a new store so there will be teething problems, like the beans app scanner not working yet, however I also tried to order the autumn special to be told there was none. Proceeded to order another drink, to again be told there was none.

Other than that, the store is immaculate, well presented and comfortable and other than one member of staff, everyone else was cheery and happy, so I do look forward to returning.

Have frequently popped in for coffee and a bite to eat..... We can't believe how this Costa coffee shop at the new Meadows shopping outlet Berwick upon Tweed has gone down hill. There has been a broken toilet seat in loo for months upon months! There were 10 tables full of cups plates etc! I had to clear and clean our table with hand wipes! I saw one member of staff look round but did nothing to clear tables...... Most of the time they were to back of shop on mobile phones! One man in front of us in qué was waiting a while for his coffee but the person serving him didn't tell him it was there! Then we noticed he had to go back up to counter when he was finished his coffee! Staff more a social event rather than providing the service they are...

Really nice Costa, it has a drive thru and a seating area. There is also space for outdoor seating too, if the weather is nice. Loads of parking. Staff were really nice and friendly and worked quickly to make the drinks. It was quite popular when we called but the queue went down very quickly. The indoor seating area was clean and tidy. Will call again when we are next...
