Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Went to Costa today . I ordered a medium hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows hot as a treat . They Either the ran out of hot chocolate or they were trying to get rid of their marshmallows because they tasted old and stale . There was hardly and hot chocolate in the cup less than small , loads of cream and 8 marshmallows to fill up the cup .so I hardly had any hot chocolate because it was taken over by cream and marshmallows and they only usually give you 3 . Maybe if the marshmallows were nice I would’ve been more forgiving but it wasn’t a nice start to the morning at all. I was going to ring them and tell them but I don’t think they will care. I just won’t go back...

This Costa is very unpredictable and the service you receive varies massively depending on which day you visit.

I visited today to find the drive thru shut. The staff said that the drive thru intercom could not be used due to building works next door which is understandable but if the staff are only serving in-store customers then I would expect the queue to move slightly faster. It took me 20 minutes to get served which was disappointing as there were only 5/6 people in front of me in the queue. The 2 members of staff were very disorganised and a third member of staff was sitting in the office.

Looked very busy but still a few tables available. There seemed to be several tables being used by companies for meetings. Very noise, what with background music and meetings taking place. I think they could do with putting in a false ceiling as it might help with sound. Definitely not somewhere I would take my hearing impaired children because it would be too difficult to have a conversation. Also difficult to tell if the barista was talking to me or the drive-through customers as they wear a headset with the mic in front of the mouth...
