Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced 4 days in a row! Before you can get in the shop to look at the menu/cakes an employee with a blue top knot asks you if you are paying cash or card not hello or welcome no 'how are you paying' is how your greeted so they can point you to 2 machines by the door. The shop was empty...I just wanted to order a cup of tea. 2 nights in a row of the same strange treatment. It is a very impersonal to welcome someone to your establishment. 3 days in a row... On the 4th day I was a bit later I was asked to get a piece of cake so popped in near closing this time there was no cash option and I said to the employee not the same one could I have a piece of millionaire short bread but I hadn't been to order it on the machine yet so went to do so after spending more time than necessary paying for the short bread the employee then comes from the cafe area walks to the check machine reads the order then get the piece of shortbread. The shop was empty! The staff obviously do not have any common sense to take an order from a customer whilst they use the payment machine it seems all staff are trained to be obstinant and have no sense of urgency. Good...

Absolutely appalling service and disgusting value. I feel ripped off. I will not return to this costa or any after this visit. I think after many years of being a loyal customer to costa I will swap loyalty to starbucks. £5 for half a cup of cold hot chocolate, and £4.15 for a single tiny piece of bacon on a bap and a dried up chocolate muffin. The place is dirty and even though it is virtually empty we are struggling to find a table, because none of the tables have been cleaned. The only saving grace is the are using takeaway packaging for everything, as I hate to think what state the crockery and cutlery is in! Given that it's on the grounds of a hospital I would have expected way better hygiene. The three men behind the counter are unapproachable and u friendly.As for value costa is clearly taking the mickey. As all sandwiches are pre packed this is a costa wide issue not just this branch. We are all experiencing issues from the cost of living increases but charging what you do for this poor effort is shocking! Costa you have lost a customer, though from what I'm seeing that won't bother you very much! Shameful way to run a business in hospitality. Stick to...

a 4;30pm visit, i was served with everything in takeaway packaging, even though i expressly told them i was eating in, condiments area was fifthly, promo hotchoc was nothing like the picture, hardly any cream and no sprinkles, i had to ask for cutlery, again disposable, the costa ethos of serving coffee in a porcelain cup to give the customer the best experience is no where in sight here, had i wanted a cardboard cup and paper bag i would of gone to greggs at a fraction...
