Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I went to the in-store Cornwall services Costa coffee on the 9th of march 2022.

My partner and I ordered a medium mocha and white hot chocolate. From the get go the gentleman who served us didn't seem to care much about our order. Nor did he seem to care about his etiquette towards customers.

Upon getting back to the car we discovered our drinks were without question the worst we've ever had (we have multiple Costas weekly) Reason for the mocha being terrible was that it was an Americano which at no point I asked for.

We decided to head to the Costa drive thru- which is usually the one we go to at Cornwall services (and never had a problem with) a colleague called Joe assisted us with our concern about the quality of the drinks and she rectified the situation swiftly and politely.

Costa drive thru at Cornwall services has impeccable customer service at all times.

The same cannot be said for the in-store branch.

Visited in store recently for coffee and asked the lady at the till if all of the cakes apply for the free birthday slice from the app (it was my birthday, obviously) and she just simply said yes. They always seem quite grumpy at the shop inside the services which is a shame. I've worked in customer service and hospitality for years but even without this, surely it's just kind human nature to say happy birthday when someone goes into store and clearly scans the birthday cake reward?! Thought that was really bizarre. That said, I only popped in here because the drive thru was shut for a few days. I visited this place on the 19th May 2022 at around 6.30pm after visiting Landsend Nice and clean establishment , well laid out however the customer service was to be desired. I Ordered my drink and was served by a young black haired female with glasses on. She slammed the drink in front of me and as I said thank you I was ignored and she walked off. She was more interested in getting the shutters down. The female mopping the floor sensed my disgust as I walked passed and said thank you and have a pleasant evening . No sooner did I leave the shutters were slammed shut. I understand people want to get home but this was dam right disgusting service . If I could score lower I would. Won’t be returning to this...
