Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Today's visit to Costa was shambolic. Granted we made a large order of 5 drinks and 7 food items but there could certainly have been better attention paid to dietary requirements.

Our order contained vegan foods. When the food was being handed over, we asked which items were which, we were told that they didn't know. As the food order contained mostly toasties, you couldn't tell from looking at them which was the vegan option. It wouldn't have taken much to mark a V on the cardboard or even a dot to simply distinguish which item was vegan.

The drinks were of a similar nature. We all had coffies but we again were told by the staff member that didn't know which were which. In today's society with so many people having dietary requirements and allergies I think this is an appauling attitude to take and one that I find unacceptable.

We didn't use rest if the facilities so cannot comment on them as we only did...

If you love the Costa brand, have issues in leaving the interior of your vehicle, cannot face navigating inside the services & it's car park, or your time is so critical then this will be perfect for you! There is even an overhead LED sign letting you know from a distance if open or closed, but at the time of this review is only open in the daytime, as see the brightly lit red sign when pass by each day on the M5 in the early evening. Being not a fan of drive thrus of any nature, thought best not cloud my judgement, so will give 5 stars due to the concept & praticality of it rather than my personal opinion. The place was filthy, the staff beyond rude. Ordered a croissant it arrived squashed flat, cold in a takeaway bag. When i requested to one staff member for it to be changed for another, heated and on a plate a completely separate staff member not involved jumped in with an awful attitude shouting "thats how they come, flat" literally no others were. My husbabd spoke to the manager regarding her rudeness but the manager appeared nervous of the staff member. For the rest of our visit we could hear her rubbling on about it. Probably the rudest most miserable young girl I've come across this year. She certainly shouldnt be in service work if she needs 2 cigarette breaks...
