Cronkinsons Farm — Restaurant in England

EDIT: now that this place had been refurbished, new menu we decided to come again. The bar lady seemed very disinterested wasn't very pleasant, almost robotic in her mannerisms. However we sat down with our drinks. The glasses had murky dried water spots on them, all the cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream were on the top of the nachos so after the first couple of layers there was nothing else. The potato skins weren't seasoned the potato itself tasted very bland almost as if they were previously frozen. Basically you get what you pay for the only thing fresh seems to be the pizzas. If you want a cheap meal then yes recommended, but if you want something that has some flavour then go elsewhere.

After my last visit of a year ago I shan't be returning any time soon. Ordered the steak and Stilton salad, described as follows: Slices of seasoned rump steak with stilton cheese and crispy onions. Mixed leaves, red onion, tomatoes, carrot, cucumber and a blue cheese dressing on the side. Problems with this as follows; Steak came as a full steak not slices, no crispy onions, no carrot but got sliced peppers and no blue cheese dressing. Do your chefs even know the menu???? My step mum ordered mushy peas with her scampi however came with garden peas, it wasn't until I walked to the bar to order another drink did the lady come over 3/4 through our meal to ask if everything was okay. We mentioned about the peas but said it wasn't too much bother, but she brought some over anyway but there was only chips left. We came early doors 12pm and it wasn't busy but feel like the staff don't know the menu and don't communicate, I ordered another mocha which was made and sat on the end of the bar for 2 mins before someone...

Extremely poor experience last night at 17.45. Ordered food and waited well over an hour for starters, which were satisfactory. After another 30 mins a young waiter came to say two of the main courses weren’t available! Incredible we had only been waiting nearly 2 hours. Happy to wait at this point as these happen, so different meals were chosen. We then waited another 30 mins or so and still no food. We spoke to the girl behind the bar who said there was no manager in and she didn’t know who was in charge of the shift. Unfortunately it was also like a play ground inside the pub with kids running around, jumping onto window sills and throwing balls while the waiters and waitresses were trying to deliver food to other tables! There were very loud customers shouting and swearing at the bar, one threatening to break someone arm. One lady was vaping at the bar. Still no food so we asked to pay, no offer of reduction in cost of starters for the poor service. The lovely young lady (16yrs old) behind the bar serving drinks was doing her best under the circumstances. Alcohol can be served by a minor if the license holder or bar manager has approved the sale unfortunately this lovely girl was behind the bar alone at times serving. These is no licensees details outside the bar either. We were told the owner we’re at there other pub in town The Talbot. These pub needs some staff that are older and are trained to deal with patrons that are out of order. Vaping is not acceptable at the bar in front of the staff. Such a shame ! Where to start, phoned to book a table but was told no need unless it gets busy, Strange way to operate but hey ! Got there spoke to lovely girl on the bar and was kind of pointed to the left side of the bar past the pool table, it was busy but no table had been reserved for us. Sat at table 20, Ridiculously noisy in the pub ( even though no sport on the tv) . Ordered food and drinks, pepsi max was watered down, and not because of the ice as I had none ! Sharing starter came, no sauce no garnish , pretty unappealing to be honest, but tasted ok. Mains came pretty quickly, unfortunately my hunters chicken was dry, overcooked and no cheese or bbq sauce, the burger was again over cooked and dry, no salad only wilted lettuce, and tomato missing from my plate, my chips were way over cooked. So all in all not worth the £35 we paid. Couldn't finish our food quick enough to leave, even more so when I group of young lads walked in and sat next to us Vaping !!
