Today me, my mother and father went to steak house "Crows Nest Beefeater" for lunch. As we live in the surrounding areas, we come here often for a meal for my father as we know they provide food that he would like.
The first issue arised when communication from the manger that day, wasn't there to inform us (the customer) that certain food wasn't available.
We then got seen by the same waiter we have seen the last time. We were made aware previously during our last meal (the previous visit), that you need to download a code from the blue light card app to get discounts on food / drinks.
Because of previous a trip before that meal, I hadn't needed to download anything and there are nothing to indicate this via any poster or leaflet.
Now to this recent trip (today). Everything was going okay, until paying the bill. We informed the same waiter we have had previously about my mum's offer of 2-1 & that I have because of my profession a blue light card discount which I made sure to download as I informed from the trip before.
The lady informed us that the codes would only work on one bill. Which at first, I was okay. But then I thought what if we split the bill like MOST restaurants do so that we are still paying for our food, but using the discounts on two separate bills.
She then in a tone unfitting when talking to any customer at all, regardless of what profession you're in. Snapped by saying that you can't split the bill at all, when previously she has done that for us before and there has been no issue.
She then got the manager and this is where the one star for service is relating to this review. The manger asked us what the issue occurring with the bill, as stated earlier in my review. We informed him of our discounts and asking to split the bill.
He then informed us about his reasons why, which on any other day I would of understand but when he came to talking to us. He kept either repeating the same thing or when my mother was trying to explain our side of things, he constantly interrupted her.
As a person who struggles with communication / is Autistic, I believe in open dialogue which involves listening and speaking (taking turns). This manger constantly interrupted her and after my second warning, I told my father to just pay the bill and I walked out of the building because of the disrespect from the waiter and especially the manger.
We will not becoming back, but this is nothing to do with the rest of the staff team working at the pub. As those people are doing a stressful job already, but I will state this.
If you're neurodiverse and struggle with communication, I would not recommend going there until the manger or the particular waiter is trained in communication with customers as the service they both provided was...
Read moreWe had a booking of 9 for the Sunday roast on the 24th March and WOW the food service was Horrific! If I could give less stars I would. Everything was definitely from frozen. Which is fine if cooked to a level of standards. I ordered the lamb roast - meat was chewy and full of fat - inedible! potatoes were stuck in your throat kind of cold and definitely frozen as for the peas and carrots- again frozen and under cooked. Plus when ordering the ultimate sunday roast which states you get more selection of meat ended up just being more frozen potatoes and undercooked veg. The chicken that was served I wouldn’t have given that to my dog!
One of the children ordered pancakes and bananas for dessert that came as less than half a cut up pancake and an under ripped banana assuming that the adults would not notice. Very cheeky and disrespectful to think they could serve such poor food to children and it go unnoticed.
Whats even more shocking is Once we made the manager aware of the quality of food he was quiet passive aggressive. He was unprofessional and embarrassing to even communicate with. We agreed to pay half the bill and that was us being polite as it was a lot of food the kitchen had cooked poorly that led to alot of waste!
Days later after dealing with this issue on site my family have received an embarrassing again passive aggressive email from management expressing that “our family are no longer welcome” with no name as to who had sent the email. We called the restaurant as we are offended and shocked as to how we have been blamed for the quality of food and service we received - he stated he was the restaurant manager but would not say his name and was being rude as so why we were calling. No people skills what so ever Considering the job role! We still have no answer as to who sent the email? Very concerning for the business owner if this is the type of staff you would like as the face of your restaurant.
We will not be returning again as not only was the food shockingly poor but the manager here is clearly unable to comprehend customers feedback and any criticism or even manage to handle any...
Read moreOur bowls team decided to celebrate its Xmas Dinner here. Two members, of eight booked, in November, to have lunch, and to book the table for the team's dinner. They had already obtained details from all team members what each individual wanted to eat. When they tried to book, asking specifically for a round table, situated in the main part of the restaurant, they were told that it was not necessary to book, and neither was it necessary to give in the list. The same couple, feeling uneasy with this negativity, they returned to attempt a booking again, but their request was, again refused. On our arrival last Saturday evening, we were told that the round table was already occupied, but a second round table was available. However, it was not situated in the main area, which had been traditionally decorated The area we were in did not, and we even had to ask for Christmas Crackers to be brought to the table. Our Waiter arrived and attempted to hand out menus. However, Sandra still had the list of the group's food requirements. The Waiter took our list, only sy that had we left the list prior to this evening, they could have ensured all was ready for us .Imagine the group's reaction to this comment. We were anything but amused. To add fuel to the fire, after having read through our list, he went on to advise us that four of the eight people could not have what they had ordered. We could not believe what he then revealed. Turkey, the most traditional of Christmas meals, was no tavailable. They could offer chicken as an alternative. Three very reluctantly agreed to have the chicken (which was of very ordinary quality), and one ordered another alternative. Fortunately the sweets were more palatable, but, after having had to wait nearly an hour for them, it came as a bitter sweet ending to the evening. It has to be said that our Christmas celebration dinner was ruined for us all, and we shall most certainly not...
