Tonight my wife and I visited for dinner. Booking was necessary as they only have seven tables in a very small intimate bar and dining area. The surroundings are very clean and welcoming and very inkeeping with the rural area. The menu options are varied and cater well for vegetarians. I chose the burger with bacon and blue cheese, my wife opted for the spicy ribs with slaw and fries. This is no exaggeration but it was the nicest burger I have ever tasted in my 54 years and believe me I've eaten some burgers. The beef pattie was full of flavour, cheese incredible, salad so fresh and the ciabatta bread toasted to perfection. Handcut chips were perfect too. The ribs were plentiful and equally as tasty and smothered with a spicy sticky sauce. The two staff were so pleasant and attentive and made us feel so welcome. It was a delightful dinner in a beautiful little bar...

Staff were nice. Inside i did not see too many tables, but they have a covered 'beer garden' on the side and thanks for a customer he told us we can go up on the stairs and there are some tables too, so we could enjoy the sunshine. You can choose from a basic selection of beers/lagers. We did not eat so i don't know the food. We parked at the front but just because we did not see the little road what goes up behind the building and there is the real parking space. We did not see any sign even if they have one to show the car park. Seems a nice place. I am not sure they have the same Sunday roast dinner as the Low Lorton...

Myself and six of my friends stayed at this holiday home for a weekend in the rooms above the pub with a private terrace (was getting built at the time but still very useable) it was clean, tidy, comfortable and just simply brilliant with such a lovely view!

The owner and the rest of the staff were so polite, accomodating, warm, welcoming and so friendly.

We had a evening meal and all of us enjoyed the good hearty british pub food! If your not going to stay in the holiday home, the Wheatsheaf inn is worth a vist for the good company and the awesome food alone!

It was an amazing stay and...

Great little place where the food is reasonably priced , service was personable, food all tasted home made and really good portion sizes. We went on a whim and without a booking but they managed to be able to squeeze us in. It had its own little quirks with lots of African inspired decorations, the food was real comfort food but with a suitable amount of finesse. It's not fine dining but absolutely perfect if you're after what pub food used to be: homemade, delicious and value for money. Monkfish scampi and the burgers were amazing. We'll definitely look to come back even if we're not staying close by.

Highly recommended! We booked a table for food here whilst staying in the area and we were over the moon with our visit. Service was efficient and friendly. Still running at a reduced menu but this didn't pose any problems as the mixture of selection is pretty varied from small plates which we had for a starter to burgers, curry & a specials board. The food was incredible - full of flavour, not long to wait and great value for money. Would certainly recommend this place and would definitely return when we are back in the area
