Having driven to Bridgnorth and seen the signpost for the Dog Inn, I wanted to stop-by for dinner on our way home. Driving into the village of Worfield set the scene - a beautiful, hot, summer's afternoon and with the sun low in the sky, a game of cricket was taking place - so very English! We found the Dog Inn and parked-up (parking at rear). With the weather being so warm, we sat in the garden and enjoyed a drink before ordering - fish and chips and a fish pie from the specials board. The menu offers a great selection, including vegetarian and vegan options. The portions were huge - so large in fact that I couldn't manage a desert. The Dog Inn offers a real country village experience, warm hospitality and fantastic drinks and food. After lunch or dinner, take a stroll around Worfield as the houses, gardens and church are stunning. Now, I wonder if anything is for sale...?

Service was lovely. The waitress was pleasant. The prices are reasonable. The food was filling and delicious x 😋 all round a really pleasant evening with good company and good food x real ales to sit all and a good choice of wine. Lovely staff x

What a little gem. We popped in here for lunch and so glad we did. The food and service were great. It’s very welcoming and relaxed. Went for a little stroll after lunch, beautiful picturesque place ❤️.

Me and my (now) wife chose Davenport House as our wedding venue in mid 2022, to get married in September 2023, and it was the best decision we could have made. We looked at a range of Georgian style manor house type venues located in Cheshire, North Wales and the West Midlands areas. It blew all of the competition away in terms of the venue aesthetics, the balance in design (i.e. period characteristics vs modern design), the impressive condition of the property for its age plus what it offered for our wedding weekend.||||Staff and service - In the UK, this is usually something that is average at best - if you're lucky. At Davenport House, the service from all staff was 10/10. I honestly don't think we've ever had better service for anything. We had a wedding planner from the start (Megan), who was an absolute saint and was fundamental in making the whole wedding a success. She was also instrumental in helping us find a way for our 'little' dog Bernie to be a part of the main event. Thanks Megan!||||Accommodation - The fantastic condition, design and decor for Davenport House extends to all areas of the estate. The rooms are fantastic, very big, well maintained and cleaned religiously by the venue. We had no issues or problems from all of the guests who stayed onsite over the 3 days.||||Food and drink - This got a lot of deserved praise from the guests too. We got to tailor our entire menu and it worked perfectly for what we wanted for the 3 days. The oyster bar and luxurious charcuterie board went down particularly well the day before the wedding.||||I could keep writing much, much more on how fantastic this venue was for our wedding. But the best advice I could give for any interested couples is to go and visit it in person and reach out to Davenport House with any questions. Our own wedding ended up becoming both perfect and the best wedding we've ever been to....

From the moment we stepped into Davenport House and were greeted by our wedding coordinator Roxanne (who was AMAZING and so attentive) - we knew this is where we wanted to get married. From start to finish the staff, the location, the food, the experience of wedding planning was perfection. On our wedding day, our wedding planner Roxanne was unfortunately unwell with Covid. However, we CANNOT thank the other members of staff enough for stepping in and ensuring our day was everything we had planned with Roxanne and more! Special shout out to Lucy who stepped in as wedding coordinator - your care for us as a couple on the day was second to none. We felt so looked after by you and never once felt stressed as you directed us through our day. Another massive shout out to venue manager Jared - nothing was ever too much for you. You made us laugh and feel so relaxed throughout the day and we had SO many compliments from our guests about you. Especially my dad who requested a pot of tea at about 10pm at night in the garden and you delivered so quickly - he was so happy!! honestly the staff at Davenport House are the best we've come across. Our suppliers also mentioned to us post wedding what a joy it was to work with staff at Davenport House over other venues they had worked in. To hear our guests say it was one of the best and most organised weddings they had been to was amazing. We will NEVER stop recommending Davenport House to our friends and family and we will also never stop visiting as staff welcome you back for afternoon teas on special occasions like Christmas - you really feel like part of the Davenport House family! We honestly can't thank you enough for making one of the most special days of our lives so perfect - we will treasure it, and the process with you forever! Thank you! |Daisy & Sam...
