I am writing regarding my shocking experience today at the last Inn.

We had come from lands end and ordered drinks at the bar sat outside as it is advertised from lands end and wed had a lovely day.

We asked for menus which the bar staff gave my partner then your manager Kate proceeded to ask what they were doing as we couldnt order at this point your inside is empty no one in and people are starting to appear its about 4pm.

Another table came and said theyd booked. Your manager had no record of the booking although they said it was done via telephone. She proceeded to argue with them at the table that the kitchen was overwhelmed although there was nobody inside the premises. She said she would have a word with the kitchen staff which i found odd as shes the manager what she says should go. She did however say shed come back to the table which i seen her come back out and completely avoid that table as it appeared she had friends or family at a table by the play area.

The leader of the other party had to go back inside and ask to speak to the manager.

When Kate appeared she said "I believe you want to speak to me?" Well the leader quite rightly said you were coming back to me on the situation regarding my booking and me being able to order food. She said no theres nothing i can do. The leader of the party said weve walked for 3 quarter's of an hour could we not have a drink on the house for the inconvenience. Me sitting as a Customer already turned away for food thought it not being an unreasonable request. Kate outright refused. What makes this situation worse and what the other party will not realise as I believe they too have your email as she would not provide a number is she pulled a face toward the pub she also was laughing and joking loud enough for me to hear this whilst using the toilets in the pub.

Which i felt so strongly about when i came out not just because we too have been turned away but the treatment of the other party. Kate had no intention of resolving and turned multiple people away but then to laugh and joke it is not strong management. Also getting Customers involved one lady saying "ill back you up". If someone isnt in the wrong theres no need to back anyone up.

The behaviour was not of a manager or strong leader but that of a school girl.

Its my first and last visit to this establishment- im not a local just had a lovely day at lands end looking for a pint and a meal.

As Kate said she couldn't feed us - why when at the time the place was empty not quite sure. Its not even that that sparked the complaint its the treatment towards guests and then thinking its funny involving Customers just appalling.

I am very concerned we were trying to eat out to help out but our money wasnt good enough was the message.

I sincerely hope you take the above on board as I find it completely shocking behaviour from someone who is deemed senior management.

This was the email to her superior but Kate also gave a false email address....

So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to...

We went twice, the first night there was a band on and we discovered they did roast dinner so, because it wasn't a bad night, all be it the drinks were a little expensive but expected in a tourist area, we booked a table for our family the next day - 7 of us. When we arrived our booking had been scrubbed out, we were given a half-arsed reason why a table hadn't been reserved but the guy was honestly very apologetic. A table was found next to a family in the midst of their meal who were told to move their stuff so the extra table could be taken away for us to use, which would have been OK if done in a pleasant manner, it wasn't! We went into the beer garden until things were sorted out as we had 2 teenage boys and a toddler with us. Finally we were told a table was ready for us. We weren't shown to the table, not given a menu, nor told how to order our food etc, nothing was explained, we were just left to figure our own stuff out. The only menu.on the table we shared between the 4 adults and 2 teenagers and it was very limited. We ordered from the bar and waited for our lunches, we didn't have to wait long, ten minutes maximum. The food was presented well enough but most of it was cold, the beef was very fatty and there were very little in the way of condiments. An older waitress came in at some point and asked if everything was OK, but her face looked like thunder and whereas I'd normally say something, we all felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome we just wanted to eat and go, most of us didn't finish our meals. We were going to stop for desserts but went to the local shop after for some afterwards. So in a nutshell - Disapointing, let down, confused, left feeling hungry and out of pocket. Such a shame because we've run pubs and know how important it is to accept ALL customers, regular and passing through, especially in the current climate. First time inn -...

It's an amazing, lovely old public house, with lots of history, information about the local area, and lots of scenic views around. The landlord has been really professional, friendly, and very welcoming all at the same time, whilst providing excellent service to their customers. We did not eat during our visit, as we were working nearby and just had a couple of drinks after work. After seeing the menu, then seeing the food being served to the nearly packed out restaurant says enough of the quality of the service & food served at the First & Last Inn. They have a large carpark to the rear, a lovely outside seating area, and also a great play area for children to play on. I would highly recommend people to visit this place if you are around this part of the country.
