Don't bother. Booked for Sunday lunch, no one had any record of booking. Once they say us down they just left us. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to at least acknowledge and ask for drinks, I went and asked should we be ordering at the counter or was it table service. Someone then came to take our order. Food looked nice but reality was it didn't have a lot of flavour, gravy was bland and the Yorkshire pudding was so dry and hard it was difficult to get a knife through. The amount of vegetables for four people was stingy. We were all apologising to each other for taking a minimal amount. No one came to ask if we wanted another drink or dessert so we sat and drank water and chatted for an hour. Without a single person coming to check on us. Plates were collected but no question to ask if we wanted anything else . Which was a missed opportunity. Upon paying they couldn't even get the bill correct and we spent about 15 mins trying to sort their mistake because they were incapable of finding the error. Had not been before and will not be going back very...
Read moreThe food itself is beautiful. However, we ordered the Sunday Roast platter (unfortunately if there is 2 of you we were told we couldn't order for just 1 person, it had to be for both of us so it meant one of us had to give up our first choice... Very bizarre) When it arrived to our table and we dished it onto our plates we were shocked at how little we received. We called the waitress over as we realised we'd have to order extra sides to make it a semi decent sized meal. She told us usually it was enough for people and that our table was too small for any more. Very embarrassing. £18.95 each we paid! She then huffily said she would put through another order. I was mortified because I felt like I was being called greedy. However, see for yourself the picture.
It's a shame as the food itself was beautiful. The girl who served us (Sarah) was a terrible waitress. We overheard a customer telling her the food could have been a little hotter and her telling them next time to order it extra hot! 😱 I was shocked. We won't...
Read moreWe often like to visit Wadswick with a stop in the cafe afterwards and found the service slow but the food ok! But on this occasion we went for breakfast. My partner ordered the breakfast with poached egg & I ordered poached egg on toast. We were on a time frame so ordered & paid at the counter! The breakfast came & looked good. The poached eggs on toast looked basic & as if they could have been dressed better! The butter was not on the toast it was in the side (I understand people might not want butter) so I moved the eggs to put the butter on, the eggs were hard not runney, very disappointing so I ate the 1st egg & toast discovering it tasted of vinegar! So I mentioned to the lady they tasted of vinegar to which she said she would get some fresh eggs! 13 minutes later still no fresh eggs & a cold piece of toast on my plate!! With my partner eaten his breakfast apart from the vinegar tasting hard poached eggs we left feeling...
