The food here was delicious. The service was excellent. It was very reasonably priced too. I was hoping that the passion fruit parfait would be in their menu as seen on the website but it was replaced with a rice pudding made with almond milk. I was a little nervous about this but I shouldn't have been. It was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect too as they offer a smaller plate. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to trying their midweek menu.

Sunday lunch was superb and very good value at £18.95 with cauliflower cheese. Desserts were lovely and homemade, forgot to take pics though. Lovely restaurant, nice surroundings, attentive and pleasant staff, will return.

Great food with friendly and knowledgeable staff about different selections. Slightly out of the way unless you are specifically going to this place or staying at the retirement village.

I am updating my review, having revisited the Greenhouse yesterday - almost exactly a year after my review below, which I will leave in place.

The reason I am updating my review is, I wish to add further detail concerning their Gluten Free options, specifically that they now offer a dedicated GF menu, whereas before they were just happy to try and accommodate my request (with not entirely perfect results).

The staff were able to advise on GF options, and knew how each dish would be modified to ensure it was GF. The majority of the menu was available, which made a very pleasant and welcome change from most restaurants.

Original Review from August 2017:

Modern and comfortable environment, friendly staff and excellent food.

We were 3 adults and a 6yr child, and were given the choice of seating in the main restaurant, and offered drinks quickly. I think we were served by all of the members of staff during our visit, but continuity was great - no being re-visited to check we were happy, etc.

The menu doesn't have a huge selection of meals on offer, but I prefer that. Between us, we had a steak, fish, a burger and kids sausage & mash, and all were perfectly cooked and...

Great restaurant when you can find it. No complaints re the food and staff but unlit signage made it difficult to find as this was a first visit. Not from the area so following Sat Nav...... Finally found it. Parking was a challenge as spaces were limited hindered by a "wadswick" minivan parked diagonally across parking spaces. Once inside, staff were friendly and welcoming. Menu had lots of options plus a specials menu. Food was, in the main, enjoyable. Lovely flavour on the lamb which was cooked perfectly. The only thing that spoilt it was the burnt little gem lettuce that was swimming in oil. That said, it was the lamb that redeemed the dish. Before we had finished eating, bar staff were cleaning the bar with bleach just beyond where we were sat. The overpowering smell stopped us eating/finishing our food and we left shortly after. Not sure I would return as found it lacking (apart...

This was our first visit, and we went for Christmas day lunch. When we arrived it was all a bit chaotic, the early lunch sitting was still eating, and our sitting arrived and filling the bar area, with nobody to meet and greet. We could not get a drink, as there was only two staff serving a very crowded bar. We manged to get seated at our table by approaching the serving staff in the restaurant. We were then left for 50 minutes with no food or drinks. When the food did arrive it was extremely good and of very high quality. After this the whole experience was saved by the staff in the restaurant and the great food. In my opinion it would have been better to have four sittings for lunch that over lapped each other rather than two separate sittings. I will definitely return and have a meal in more normal circumstances as i would imagine it would be a very...
