Lovely Country Pub with a nice Lit Log Fire on the go, with genuine people running it.. if you want to feel Welcome and enjoy a chat and a beer, this is the place to visit... Nice and clean... Lovely Landlady who's always in to great you and your more than welcome to bring your Furr Babies along with you... Unfortunately they do not sell food but they allow you to order from local take aways and eat in the bar...

Free motorhome Park up fir the night prompted us to stop by. Lovely warm welcome, good prices and a selection of ales made a great evening. Pet friendly so could take Dougie our cat in with us. Have been back multiple times. Our favourite park up in the area. ❤️

On our way to a nearby hotel, where we were staying we passed this pub, our first impressions were good, it looked inviting, and after checking out the restaurants at the place we were staying decoded to give the pub a go. Our instincts were good and we had a fantastic meal. The pub was warm and friendly, the landlady her staff and all the locals made us feel like we belonged! The food was stunning, fresh beautifully cooked and well presented. I tried the Chicken parmesan, a Teeside speciality, this had the potential to be really bad, but not at the Foresters, the chicken was juicy, the breadcrumb crust crunchy, and the cheese sauce, just right. It was served with home made chips and salad and was delirious! My husband had gammon and couldn't make up his mind between egg or pineapple, so the lovely landlady suggested he had both. This pub was so good that I would make a special effort to go to it again next time I am heading down...

This pub had been in the same hands for many years, it built up a great trade with locals and passers by. It was also known for its live music nights. Sadly the owner retired, the new owners moved in and within a few short weeks Ruined this wonderfully built up pub trade and its reputation with its poor often rude attitude and just as poor service.

NOW THANKFULLY ......

The pub is in New Management Hands that are genuinely trying very hard to restore this pub to its FORMER GLORY...

You are Welcomed and Treated as Family and just as Warm and Welcoming is Their Food, their Range of Drinks and the Cosy Ambience of which Embraces you, as you Enter, along with its Open Log Fire. No One Deserves to have the previous owners Ruin the business, And No One Deserves more the Reward of Building that Business back to its Former Glory Than The New...

Fantastic pub. We visited on our way to Newcastle when staying at the hotel down the road.

Came in for a casual few drinks and myself and my partner were blown away by how nice the place was. Everyone was friendly, staff and customers. The lady behind the bar who served us was very nice. The building is beautiful and it deserves to be 10x as busy.

A pint and a shandy for £7.75 is a bargain and myself and my partner were very impressed. Couldn't recommend it more. Will...
