Greggs — Restaurant in England

I have been using greggs in woofferton for a few weeks now, great coffee, delicious food, friendly service. Until today when I was served by the manager, Ann, for the first time. Admittedly I arrived at 5.34am and the shop opens at 5.30am (as a barista in a coffee myself I do understand this may be a little annoying, trying to set up while a customer is trying to enter less than 5 minutes from opening time - but i had an appointment for 6am), Ann was rude as soon as i walked in, huffing and short with me, no hello, no smile, no thank you or please. I asked for a skinny vanilla latte to which she just said 'I can't do that', I understand she meant she had no skinny milk (I'd asked for the same the say before and they told me this, I had just forgotten) however she did not offer me semi skimmed, she just told me she couldn't do it and then stared at me. I then asked for semi skimmed and she huffed at me. I then asked for a bacon bap and asked if I could sit in or if it would be more money, she said 'I didn't charge for that' and that was that. I've never complained before and we all have our bad days - but as a manager, she surely should have been a little nicer - i came in during opening hours and i wasnt difficult or rude with my order, it was a quick and easy order and i was polite. I'll use starbucks across the road from now on, shame as the rest of the staff are lovely and the coffee and food are my favourite...

The morning mist had only just started to clear. As our group headed back towards home, we decided to stop for a breakfast snack and coffee here. This was a mistake.

We were bamboozled into stopping at this place by the allure of Starbucks, which turned out to be a shelf with sugar packets and a thermos of what someone might call coffee.

Then came Gregg’s. I was greeted with a smile, but it was a ruse - I will now list the three strikes that led to this review:

I found £5 pounds on the ground and asked if anyone had lost it. The Gregg’s cashier insisted I give it to him and so he could put it in the lost and found that looked suspiciously like a register They said they didn’t have cheese, but like 80% of their menu is cheese They refused to heat my food after staring at the very functional microwave, then at each other, then at me. The excuse given was that “once its in the case we can’t alter it.

This Greggs was fantastic. Big selection on the menu, savories, sweets, drinks both hot & cold. The food here is always fantastic. The service here is always excellent, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. A real credit to the business. The rewards system is a brilliant bonus too. Love the caramel filled doughnuts & the hot choc is amazing. Great prices, excellent food, a fantastic place to eat or drink. Go quite regular & will be back soon. Many thanks to the staff here.
