Travelled 35 miles to visit this coffee shop arrived at 3.35pm and sat in the annex. Then was told after 5 mins to move as they were shutting at 4 'o' clock and needed to bring the tables in. So moved further inside. Whilst doing this i could hear my wife ordering a latte with the milk in the cup and the coffee separate so we could add it later. I like weak coffee. She explained this twice. They came to the table with a latte with what they described was about ½ shot in it and then separate shots in a expresso cup. We both said that was not right and we had to explain it again, after a few mins ½ cup of steamed milk turned up! So again we had to ask for it to be filled up! Really don't know why they couldn't get this right and after this went very sarcastic with us banging biscuits down on the table in front of us and asking us if everything was alright now. Also heard them moaning as two German holiday makers ordered toasted sandwiches and they did not really want to do this as they were closing but they did in the end. My issue here is two fold. If you are going to run a cafe in a tourist area then you should not be shutting up at 4 'o' clock on a Saturday afternoon! It is all over the West Country news that this year (2024) visitor numbers are down. You need to look after each and every customer that graces their presence in your establishment. Then secondly you need to listen to your customers requirements when making a simple latte and not take it out on them because you got it wrong! Indecently all other shops in Porlock Weir should not be shutting at this time either as there were plenty of people about. Lost revenue and sadly we won't be coming back! also review...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped hear, to refuel, while doing a practice ride for bike packing. The service was awesome! The girl behind the till was really funny, as was the chef! We both had a tuna mayo baked potato... SUPER nice, especially after a cycle! I then asked 'weird question but would you mind if I nap anywhere?'. They replied 'yes that is a bit of a weird question, can I ask why?'. 'I have recently sustained a third degree brain injury, so unfortunately have to take regular naps now'. They then, so kindly, let me me nap in the studio, put back, before they cleaned it after some guests left. Honestly, such a god send! I appreciated it more than they could know. Oooo...also the honeycomb, rocky road is awesome! Lovely place with a lovely vibe, view, food and workers. What more could...

As she is a wheelchair user we were not able to cross the bridge as it was not wide enough so I pulled in as close as I could. In a lovely cosy and quaint atmosphere😊Two lovely hot drinks and two delicious doughnuts later my nanna and I were sat in the van reminiscing about old times, thank you for making our trip down memory lane special it really makes a...
