Hugh Street Cafe is based in the middle, or the heart of St Mary’s town. My goodness, if you arrive early, you are greeted with an array of some amazingly tasty looking deli foods to take away or eat-in. They also make gorgeous salads, cakes, snacks, pastries and much much more. The cafe supports and boast some fine local produce and wonderful gifts. I visited Hugh Street Cafe on my first visit to the Scilly Isles, and what a first impression! I shared one of their specials, which was a fresh dressed crab sandwich with a strawberry milkshake. Lovely little cafe on the island offering lots of impressive vegan and vegetarian options, including a courgette chocolate cake and avacado chocolate cake, both of which tasted incredible! It was not just a cafe, but also a produce shop with cheese and meat counter, and a Cornish-made gift selection of food (biscuits, tea etc) Only downside is it was a bit cramped inside with not mush seating, particularly as most people were heading for food places straight off the ferry...
