Indian Lodge — Restaurant in England

I actually do not understand the reviews on here. Must be fake or something because the food was horrible. As an indian who just recently moved to the area we thought we would visit. First of all they display and advertise that they have a buffet, they don’t. Apparently its an “old” advert they haven’t replaced.

Anyway we proceeded to have their £13.95 menu which gave 1 starter, 1 main, 1 side and rice or naan per person.

I am pregnant and went for 1) Chicken tikka (which was COLD when it came out which means they use a microwave to heat things), 2) a chicken rogan josh (absolutely vile) and 3) paneer masala (this had no taste whatsoever).

My whole family did not enjoy their food and we are big foodies. We literally had a spoon of everything, and it looked like we didnt eat anything. The servers were trying to make us take all the food home. My husband took his biryani as he felt bad but it went in the bin.

I refused to pay £110 and wanted to complain, but my dad felt sorry for them and made us pay saying “this is how these restaurants are, they dont cater to real asians”

Please please please if you are english, this is NOT what authentic indian food tastes like. Do not be fooled by their reviews. It is not a good place to dine and enjoy indian food. A big fat no from me. I wish i could get a refund as it was not...

Came for a meal with friends on a Saturday night expecting a reasonable meal and all was average apart from being told we only serve house win by the glass. Then our mains turned up, I had ordered a chicken biriyani. when it was served to me it looked like a pile of congealed gunk. All the rice was so over cooked it had broken up an stuck together. This was sent back 4 times and each time the same gunk was brought back out. When I asked why can't I have fresh cooked rice they said we precook our rice then warn it up again. When explaining to the waiters that rice should not look like this and not be broken up they thought it was funny and just dismissed it as how they cook it even though others in the party had rice that was OK. In the end I gave up and went without a meal. When we asked for the bill they had the cheek to try and charge for my meal that was never eaten. Disgusting attitude from all the staff. On top of this I found out that they only have a score of 1 out of 5 on the food...

I last reviewed Indian Lodge 2 years ago and have it five stars for wonderful food and friendly, helpful staff. As it's been so long, I thought I would review again.

The restaurant has recently been refurbished and looks great. We've been in once during lockdown and had a great meal.

Most of the time we order delivery through the restaurant app rather than just eat. I'd recommend this to everyone. The menu has had some new additions recently and I'm working through them. During the start of lockdown some deliveries were delayed as everyone adjusted but that's understandable. Now we get our food on to.e or early every occasion. The food is still great and I wish we could go in to enjoy the excellent...
