Read moreThe KFC in Pocklington, near York, was very busy on the evening I visited. The staff seemed a little relieved when I explained that I was in no terrible hurry - sometimes I'm happy to just sit and relax awhile. However, they did their level best to expedite my order as fast as possible.
My server was polite and courteous throughout, giving regular meal-readiness-updates. Once I was packed and ready, and despite being under pressure, he insisted on carrying it out to my car for me. Being a disabled chap means one must rely upon the kindness of strangers, and a rushed KFC employee that doesn't need to be asked gets a Huge Gold Star from me!
At journey's end, having had the heater blower on high all the way, the food was still hot. I hadn't had KFC in years, but since I was driving past it was a mixture of impulse and nostalgia. The food was as good as I remembered - not at all dry, just the right amount of juiciness, the skin lovely and forbidden (don't tell any of my medical consultants sshhh), the spices perfect, and ohhhhh that gravy. Mmmmm.
So in summary KFC Pock is getting everything right. Yes, they can be busy; but I gather they're the only branch for miles around, and so that really can't be helped. They are polite, courteous, and try their hardest to please. The new Vegan Burger is a big hit with the non-meat-eating sector of my family, but since I didn't have any, I can't personally review it. I was there for the Juicy Nostalgia Chicken. And ohh the Totally Forbidden Skin. Swimming in delicious GRAVY!!!! I will return...
Read morewell after a long time well over a year we thought we'd give it another try. previous experiences drive thru took ages to order like 15 min then after ordering told 20 mins, it took nearly 40 for the order to be wrong when going into store staff very rude, debatable if they had any training at all.
going into store very rude and immature staff, after a 30/40 min wait half the order wrong and another 20 mins to have it rectified some food was ok the rest was cold, under cooked or burnt to a crisp, went to the toilet it looked like something out of an apocalypse.
going into store it took two attempts to get the order right the staff were rude and had a poor attitude and 4 of the 6 people i fed ended up very unwell, hence why we didn't use it for well over a year.
just recently giving them another chance thinking change of staff, more training for staff the store been open longer, ordered our food eventually after getting the attention of the staff that were too busy gossiping about someone's bedroom activities, after a very long wait we got our food everything was present the two burgers were ok but one lot of chicken was massively over cooked and bone dry the other chicken was under cooked and cold, we tried to complain but we were just met with disinterest and attitude.
lesson learned we will not use the Pocklington KFC ever again we will drive to York or Hull where we have never had an issue always polite helpful staff and good food, i have no idea how the Pocklington store is even open, explains the empty car park...
