The KFC in Pocklington, near York, was very busy on the evening I visited. The staff seemed a little relieved when I explained that I was in no terrible hurry - sometimes I'm happy to just sit and relax awhile. However, they did their level best to expedite my order as fast as possible. My server was polite and courteous throughout, giving regular meal-readiness-updates. Once I was packed and ready, and despite being under pressure, he *insisted* on carrying it out to my car for me. Being a disabled chap means one must rely upon the kindness of strangers, and a rushed KFC employee that doesn't need to be asked gets a Huge Gold Star from me! At journey's end, having had the heater blower on high all the way, the food was still hot. I hadn't had KFC in years, but since I was driving past it was a mixture of impulse and nostalgia. The food was as good as I remembered - not at all dry, just the right amount of juiciness, the skin lovely and forbidden (don't tell any of my medical consultants sshhh), the spices perfect, and ohhhhh that gravy. Mmmmm. So in summary KFC Pock is getting everything right. Yes, they *can* be busy; but I gather they're the only branch for miles around, and so that really can't be helped. They are polite, courteous, and try their hardest to please. The new Vegan Burger is a big hit with the non-meat-eating sector of my family, but since I didn't have any, I can't personally review it. I was there for the Juicy Nostalgia Chicken. And ohh the Totally Forbidden Skin. Swimming in delicious GRAVY!!!! I will return again. Soon....

Service is very very bad. Staff member who take my order was very kind and lovely but when i paid in cash he was not able to count. £10,39. He understood note of 10 pounds, but pence it was something like from diferent planet. 20 pence coint he was trying to read what is writen on it..... then was 10 pence, then 5 coints of 1 pence and two coints of 2 pence. Not able to count how much that is making. Asked his coleague, another guy ant that one also was incorect, they was returning me 2 pence anx telling me - now is corect. I need to count in loud, pence by pence in the front of that first guy to make payment correct. And he was looking to me like to allien..... To be fare, he was very kind and said there is is his foult, but what thinking management and trainers of this company.... very unproffesional. 🫣

Food was good had to wait about 10 minutes as had no boneless chicken left but didnt mind as i knew it was fresh and had not been stood for ages. It was very quiet when we arrived hardly anybody in then a load of people came in to order. Yet the staff were more interested in closing the seating area off early rather than serving customers food and kept telling seated customers who were eating that the seating area is closed in 10 minutes. Customers could have been served in half the time but as we all know most places now are short staffed and underpaid minimum wage minimum effort I suppose.

In the bustling heart of our local KFC, there is one name that stands out among the rest: Angus. This everyday hero transforms the simple act of serving chicken into an art form, turning each customer interaction into a memorable experience.

Angus embodies dedication and passion in every aspect of his work. From the moment he steps behind the counter, his unwavering commitment to quality and service is evident. With a warm smile and a friendly greeting, he makes every guest feel welcome, creating an atmosphere that is both inviting and efficient.

His mastery of multitasking is nothing short of extraordinary. Whether he is handling the fryer with the precision of a seasoned chef, expertly assembling orders with lightning speed, or ensuring the dining area remains spotless, Angus performs each task with a level of excellence that is truly commendable. His ability to maintain composure and deliver exceptional service, even during the busiest of shifts, is a testament to his remarkable work ethic and resilience.

But Angus’s heroism extends beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. On more than one occasion, he has saved lives by stepping in during critical moments. With quick thinking and impeccable training, Angus has performed the Heimlich maneuver on choking customers, ensuring their safety and earning their eternal gratitude. These acts of bravery underline his exceptional character and dedication to the well-being of everyone in the restaurant.

Beyond his technical skills, Angus is a beacon of positivity and encouragement for his colleagues. He leads by example, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of advice. His infectious enthusiasm and can-do attitude inspire those around him, fostering a team spirit that drives the entire restaurant to new heights.

Customers are quick to sing his praises, often returning just to experience his top-notch service. Angus has an uncanny ability to remember regulars’ orders and preferences, adding a personal touch that transforms routine visits into cherished moments. His dedication to customer satisfaction goes above and beyond, ensuring that every meal is served hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered.

Angus is more than just an employee; he is the heart and soul of our KFC. His unwavering dedication, exceptional skills, life-saving heroism, and inspiring leadership make him a true hero in the fast-food industry. In a world where exceptional service can be rare, Angus shines brightly, reminding us all of the power of hard work, kindness, and a genuine passion...

well after a long time well over a year we thought we'd give it another try. previous experiences drive thru took ages to order like 15 min then after ordering told 20 mins, it took nearly 40 for the order to be wrong when going into store staff very rude, debatable if they had any training at all.

going into store very rude and immature staff, after a 30/40 min wait half the order wrong and another 20 mins to have it rectified some food was ok the rest was cold, under cooked or burnt to a crisp, went to the toilet it looked like something out of an apocalypse.

going into store it took two attempts to get the order right the staff were rude and had a poor attitude and 4 of the 6 people i fed ended up very unwell, hence why we didn't use it for well over a year.

just recently giving them another chance thinking change of staff, more training for staff the store been open longer, ordered our food eventually after getting the attention of the staff that were too busy gossiping about someone's bedroom activities, after a very long wait we got our food everything was present the two burgers were ok but one lot of chicken was massively over cooked and bone dry the other chicken was under cooked and cold, we tried to complain but we were just met with disinterest and attitude.

lesson learned we will not use the Pocklington KFC ever again we will drive to York or Hull where we have never had an issue always polite helpful staff and good food, i have no idea how the Pocklington store is even open, explains the empty car park...
