Stopped here for a bite to eat and some drinks after a long walk through the countryside. The welcome we received was very friendly. We are on holiday in Somerset and the staff here were very helpful with places to get cider and other areas to visit. The cider on tap of Dorset Orchards Gold was delicious. The food we had was so good that we booked for Sunday lunch the next day. When they heard how much of a walk we had and having to walk along a busy road with children they even offered to give us a lift back to our lodge. I would definitely recommend this lovely village pub! Edit. Just got back from a lovely Sunday lunch. The roast pork was delicious. The red cabbage tasted like it had cinnamon in it which was a lovely touch. Very tasty indeed. And all the staff were very friendly again.

Now listen, folks, we have some news, We've done a local food review, We recently wanted Sunday lunch, And we've been to all the local bunch, So if you want to know the winner, There's only one place for Sunday dinner. Meet Robyn, Nicky, and don't forget Mark, They truly leave the rest in the dark, The king William at Catcott is by far the best And you can honestly keep the rest. Forget the Carvery and Gastropub, This is proper home cooked grub. Now the tearooms finally here, It's not just a place to have a beer, So "here's to the King William" is the toast, The place to go for your Sunday roast.

Sunday Carvery Lunch was simply Wonderful. Great choice of meats and Veg. Massive Yorkshire puds! Brilliant choice for Vegetarians as well. (Special Veggie Gravy) Super Friendly welcome and atmosphere. Probably the "Best Sunday Lunch" in Somerset in my opinion. Dog Friendly as well, treats and water supplied. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We will be back :)

Popped in for a midweek evening meal as we were holidaying locally and didn't fancy the self-catering option! Phoned up to book a table in advance which turned out to be unnecessary as the place was surprisingly quiet - not sure if it's down to ongoing Covid fears keeping people from socialising or perhaps a case of building up custom as the delightful hostess said that the owners were fairly new to the pub. Whatever the reason for the quietness, it didn't make a difference as we were after a cosy meal for two 😅. The pub itself is a nice mix of tradition and modernity with some eclectic lighting. The menu was relatively short but well balanced with a range of dishes including vegetarian and vegan options although we both opted for the Hunters Chicken which was very tasty, juicy chicken breast, nice thick bacon & tasty cheese with a nicely dressed side salad and chunky chips. Good food but what really made the evening for us was the service - we got chatting with the hostess who on hearing we were holidaying, spent some time giving us some very helpful tips on local...

Up to today had nothing but good experience off this pub, that why I had totally faith that it was the right place to take group off senior vunbell adults out for their first outing in almost two years. I spoke at great length with the land lady and although the pub is not usselly open Tue day time she said she was more then happy to open for us,we discussed food music booked a date I have always found her very profsnal it didn't cross my mind that she would forget. So we wheeled every one to the pub at the Agread time only to find the pub closed we did eventually get a phone call to say something had cropped up,, The group are very disappointed going out is quite a big undertaken for most off this people, they were not impressed shame as I really believed in this pub until lock doiwn I organised many many outing wev never been...
