I've been coming to the King's Corner a few times in the past year and the food has always been very good and the service cheerful and obliging. Myself and a friend decided to treat ourselves to a Christmas dinner this year and we have to say that it for exceeded our expectations of a pub Christmas meal. Right from the start we were greeted by friendly and helpful ladies, we were shown to a table which was laid out lovely in a very nice part of the restaurant and we were so happy that it felt very festive and the atmosphere was great. It was warm, cosy and inviting. We had a three course meal and I have to say the food was fabulous, everything was presented very nicely to us and was steaming hot. The turkey was succulent and all the trimmings were wonderful plenty of veg and proper sausage meat stuffing and not just a cheap version of Paxo. The roast potatoes were close to ones you would make yourself at home and that is not often the case when you eat out. I have to say the highlight of the whole meal was the Clementine and lemon citrus tart that we had which was absolutely mouth watering and I would love to be a permanent addition to the daily dessert menu. I have to say the most notable thing was how wonderful the staff were they kept checking in on us and they just couldn't do enough to help us. I hope the new manager really appreciates them! Good staff with such exemplary customer service skills are hard to find. So thank you to Christina, Rebecca and Charlotte, I hope you get a good Christmas bonus this year 🎅🎁🎉

Great for family get togethers!!!! We booked an area of the pub for 20 people at 2pm for my dad's birthday. When we arrived the landlord (Phil) showed us to our tables. I asked if we could possibly extend the timing for longer and he said yes of course is 8pm okay? I said that's fantastic. He then a said I've done one better and got you tables til 9pm! Amazing. We all had a great time and a good laugh with the other bloke behind the bar Rob? (wearing) he was so friendly. The blonde lady with the ponytail Rebecca/Charlotte? was also attentive and friendly. The service was brilliant and we got drinks served quickly everytime. The food was fantastic, all of our guests said they would be returning. We had children with us too and it was great to see them use the play area and have fun. We sat inside, in the beer garden and the smoking area. Since Phil has taken over the pub only seems to be on the rise. I have been visiting since a kid (in my 30s now) and now my kids can visit. The old landlords Susan and simon Scholes only seemed to stay irrelevant and not put any effort into the pub. The menu has changed for the better - kebabs are insane. The beer/cider/cocktail and shots offering are so much better too. I look forward to many more visits this year and also looking forward to the next live music they have and summer activities. Great job Phil and team!

Opening night after a period of closure for refurbishment. Busy but expected, table for 5 booked & ready on arrival. Greeted by a very friendly host who advised food wait times before seating us (up to an hour but not unexpected on opening night). Ordered food at the bar and again advised by staff the wait times before ordering. Took advantage of a new (or restocked) games shelf to occupy the kids while waiting so the wait for food while accurate, didn’t feel like that long. Food was lovely, hot and fresh despite how busy it was & were good portion sizes. Unexpected offer of kids eat free with an adult every Wednesday so that was a bonus. Childs meals were very good sizes and they tried out the new sundae station which was definitely a hit. We had a great night and would 100% recommend.

I visited this place on sunday 6th July. Id like to start off by saying how awful the the customer service was as I patiently waited at the front desk to be seated, no one came and we had to go to the bar to even be acknowledged. We then asked if there was a table for us to which the women replied "sit anywhere". We then looked for a table and the first 4 we came across were filthy with food all over them, all over the floor and covered in flies. As we then sat down at the cleanish table we found, it was all sticky and had to ask for someone to clean it. As we sat down my son said he needed to go to the toilet, so he went to the gents in which time the waiter wiped the table and then told me that they are on a limited menu. We asked what they had to which they replied "hardly anything left". My son was now back and said he didnt go to the toilet because it was filthy and covered in flies so at this point we got up and left in discuss! Flithy, rude staff and Flie riden! absolutely discusted! Zero stars! Dear Phil

Your welcome for the feedback i left, as i said it would have been nice to have been acknowledged when we entered the pub wether you have a "front desk" or not and why would you assume we picked a filthy table? we picked the cleanest table out of what was available which was still not clean but thankyou for the sarcastic comment! Every table had food all over and underneath! I understand that sometimes people may come in when a member of staff hasnt been able to clean up properly but what excuse did you have for the whole pub looking like it had been ransacked? I suggest more staff if you cant keep up with cleanliness properly...If your located between farms which you know attract flies it seems bizzare to me that you wouldnt have had something already in place for this problem? it wasnt just 1 or 2 flies Phil, your pub was crawling with them, the tables and the toilets! Maybe you can take this feedback and take something from it because everything you have replied to is answered to with...

We visited kings corner on Tuesday 19th and our party consisted of 3 adults, 1 disabled adult, 3 children of eating age and 1 newborn baby in a pushchair. We left feeling COMPLETELY unhappy with everything.

• We specified to come out with the main courses that we would like 3 small starter plates - these came out before everything else and one dish was wrong. We then expressed this to a waiter and he brought the receipt over and said “it’s on here” so we stated that the lady at the bar had inputted it incorrectly as the person eating the food would not order the dish that came out as they did not like it. We then had to further for the correct dish.

• we ordered two separate orders for the same table IMMEDIATELY after one another and they came out significantly later than one another (even though both orders had the same food?)

• on one order we got everything bar one meal and this was for the disabled adult so as you can imagine it’s hard to explain why they have to wait. We expressed this again to a waiter and was told “it will be with you shortly” and then waited even longer, by the time it came out half of us had finished.

• on the second order, this was 1 adult meal and 1 children’s meal - the adult meal came out and the child (4) was again made to wait. This was ridiculous as the wait time was awful, we had to resort to giving her bits off of everyone else’s plate that had food already because she was hungry. We even had people from other tables commenting on how out of order this was.

• finally, as the waiters and waitresses were bringing food to the table they CONSISTENTLY proceeded to put food on the table OVER THE PUSHCHAIR WITH THE NEWBORN IN. This is unacceptable, what would you have done if you dropped hot food on a baby?

When we spoke to the manager he didn’t seem too interested and it felt like he begrudgingly offered us a refund.

We will not be returning -...
