My wife and my 2 boys (aged 11) called to have a hot chocolate and coffee. The boys dont like hot drinks and didnt want anything. I ordered our drinks served by a decent bloke (a little eccentric but ok) just as we were being shown into the secure seating area a female (possibly the owner) barked (no punn intended) her orders that we had to buy something to eat or drink for the boys despite them being asked if they wanted anything in front of the staff. Shocked by the unreasonable demands and even more unreasonable answer we purchased further drinks doubling the price. !!!! Whilst inside we spotted 4 cats, the boys wanted to locate the 5th so went upstairs, no signs, barriers or any notices to stop them. The same female rudely shouted across the cafe that the boys had to be escorted by an adult. I followed the boys upstairs to find an empty room with one sofa and 1 cat. (Nothing to break or damage) So in summary the coffee and drinks were ok the female serving was rude, obnoxious, blunt, we felt forced to buy more than we wanted. NOT THE WAY YOU TREAT PAYING...

Went in with my husband as he wanted to see the cats (we had been a few years ago before COVID). My husband got a beer and I asked what soft drinks/hot drinks they had and she said none. Literally none. She said non alcoholic beer was all they had. I said I don't like beer unfortunately and she said I was in the wrong place. I said I'm sure when we came last we both had hot drinks and she said oh yeah we stopped as it wasn't profitable. I said fair enough I'll sit with my husband then. So my husband got his pint and then we found out we weren't even able to go into the cat area. It was closed off on weekdays. It just seems super odd. It is barely a cat place now really is it? Just a tiny little room with no atmosphere where god forbid you're driving - no drink for you. I don't really drink, but I go to a lot of bars and I've never been in a single one where I couldn't order a coke at the very least. Most actually have a decent handful of soft drinks available. But I guess that's not...

This afternoon me and my friend were passing by kittcaen beer shop in Hawkshead and we’re abused by one of there attendant shouting slander while laying across one of there tables out side smoking a cigarette accusing us that we ruined there toilets. Early that day we had booked a table with Them but when we got there they we found out that they only had a nacho meal. So we apologised and said we were sorry and left the premise as we were looking for a full meal. The young woman who represent the company does not have any manners or any decency of customer service experience in her bun. If was to put it crudely she is a disrespectful human being and I am being polite about this. Because we are of different race she lashed out for doing her job. She is paid to take care of customer and keep clean the entire premises. I feel she is a let down to the company and should not hold a position at hawkshed kittcaen She has given the company a bad rap and should be removed from...

Cake and cats in my fave corner of The Lake District, what's not to love?? Had a fabulous Chai Latte (best since I had in India) and the slice of vegan rocky road was to die for....would never have guessed it was vegan in a million years. The regular rocky road got the thumbs up from the rest of our group too. The pusscats were very chilled out and they all seem very contented moggies. Some were snoozing, some having a nosey, some having ear tickles from customers. Having read some earlier reviews, if you haven't lived with cats before, DO NOT expect to be smothered in feline love when you visit. These cats are just the same as any other, if they want to come see you, they will. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the music (imho) is great and the selection of craft beers will be tried the next time when I'm not driving. Staff are helpful, chatty and polite. There are rules to abide by obviously, but they exist for a reason, the welfare of our feline friends. I'll definitely be back 😻

Very lovely café and events space with the added bonus of cats - a fantastic surprise to find on a sleepy day in Hawkshead! Wonderful home made snacks and treats, wide selection of teas coffees and beers and given the nature of the business it's good to see that cleanliness is well thought out and meticulously adhered to. The owner and staff clearly care very much about what they are doing. The cats are obviously happy here, clear ground rules prioritise their welfare which is absolutely correct, interaction is very much on their terms so don't be disappointed if they just sleep! That said my wife and I spent a very enjoyable hour having tea/coffee and delicious Anzac biscuits with Kiki who was very keen to make friends with us :-) A delightful break!

KITTchEN: P*ssy & Pints is a unique independent craft beer bar and cat lounge that offers customers the opportunity to drink beer and rescue cats! Luckily, these are my favourite pastimes!! The cafe opened in May 2018 and is now a permanent fixture in the small village. The bar offers craft beers from the Fell Brewery, which brews the Cat Pissed IPA, and other lakeland breweries. It has a strict no-dogs, no-kids policy and limits groups to no more than 6 people. The cat room is currently open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 12 noon to 6 pm. It is a great little business that deserves support if visiting Hawkshead.
