Kolize Pizzeria — Restaurant in England

It is with regret that I feel I have to share my experience at this restaurant. I've previously had such a good experience at kolize but sadly not the case this time. I pre booked a table for 10 people for my partners birthday. I also as requested sent through my order of all starters and main courses with sides. We arrived on time to a fairly busy restaurant with a great atmosphere. We all sat down but had to wait over half an hour before being asked if we would like drinks. All starters came out after that, which were great, but had to wait quite a while after that for our mains. Once the mains came, the Carbonara for one of the party was overly salty, we questioned if it was just his taste buds and sampled it for ourselves, and to our surprise, it tasted like someone had accidentally dropped the salt pot in it, so that had to be sent back and re ordered. All other mains arrived but lacking the side dishes of rice and veg. We waited and waited to the point were our food was becoming cold so we flagged a waitress down as asked if our sides were on the way, because food was now being served at other tables and we really thought we'd been forgotten about. Really disappointing when naturally the sides should be there at the same time as the rest of the food. Hence the rating, if the food and waiting time hadn't been an issue we all would have walked away extremely happy. But unfortunately due to this experience many of our party won't be dining...

We visited Kolize after seeing it on a visit to Hedon. We were celebrating a very decent grade in my daughter's Master's assignment. The restaurant is quaint and has a lovely décor and atmosphere. We had soup, which was like a meal in itself, bruschetta which was divine and various mains, and Princess Pudding and my 'sweet' boyfriend managed some chocolate fudge cake. I have eaten in several good Italian restaurants in Hull and many around the country, but the food here was just sublime, beautifully presented, high quality and fresh, expertly cooked and simply delicious. Absolutely fantastic evening with friends... the food was delicious tasty and presented so well.. staff went above and beyond helping and serving you ( thankyou ).. the restaurant is delightful and cosy just how you would expect an Italian restaurant to be...my partner is gluten free and he was catered for very well (thankyou again) The dessert rum baba highly recommended it's to die for (gorgeous) Only one small criticism could have had English added to some of the dishes on the menu so we didn't have to keep asking what it was..
