Place is nice and staff are friendly. looking at the reviews i find it hard to believe some aren't being deleted. Starters: Bread and olive oil. Bread was ok - the olive oil was clearly cheap. Prawn cocktail: ok flavour - smallest prawns I have ever seen. Calamari - clearly frozen calamari but cooked well. Spicy sausage and mushroom - this one was quite good.

Main course: Spicy sausage pasta..this was average at best. Again I suspect cheap ingredients as flavour was minimal and almost tasted like something I could whip up quite quick. Nothing to write home about or even worth retrying. Salmon risotto. I don't know what went wrong here. Asparagus was stringy and uncheweable. Risotto I couldnt have another bite it just tasted BAD. Salmon tasted like Aldi essentials that was kept in the freezer for over a month. Real disappointment with this one.

Staff were nice and took the mains of the bill so that's good..

However for the chef to come and apologise initially just to follow up with saying I just ordered something we didn't like is outrageous. I don't think salmon risotto is anything crazy and it's just tasted horrid. In any case we won't be back but as I chose this place for my partners birthday dinner I was very disappointed.

I went because of the reviews so I want this to stand out and for you the reader to think twice before committing to going.

Much better places to go in...

We arrived for lunch very early, before noon, and so had the place almost to ourselves.

There was a sensible-sized car park.

The menu had significantly more choice than many restaurants have been offering at lunchtime these days.

The prices were very reasonable.

The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

When we asked for the music to be a little quieter, it was done immediately. That's not to say that it was loud or intrusive - at a busier time, with more people there, it would have been about right.

The food was excellent - very tasty and clearly cooked to order, and surprisingly fast. My request for a Tagliatelle Carbonara instead of the Spaghetti Carbonara actually on the menu was no problem at all

Everything (including the restrooms) was reassuringly clean and shiny.

There was a little traffic noise - it's right next to the main road from Swindon/Wroughton down to Avebury, but not enough to disturb us, Parents taking children there might want to just keep an eye that that don't get out the front.

Out at the back there's a nice outdoor seating area - a decent size, and nicely laid out. Fences and hedges meant that traffic noise didn't...

It was our friends birthday so we googled restaurants in the area and were so pleased we found this little gem. The service is excellent. Warm and welcoming. Food is fresh and beautifully made and presented. The atmosphere is perfect and decor pleasing on the eye. Rustic with a modern twist. Very clean and tidy. Free parking with about 10 spaces. Customer care is first class and both Tony & Bianca are perfect hosts. You can tell they care about their customers and quality of their food. Now to the deserts. One word wow!!! The mains were amazing and we didnt think they would be able to top them until we ordered the home made deserts. Quite simply the nicest Banoffee, tiramsu and cheesecake we have ever had. They were sooooo good. Worth going just for these alone. We have been disapponted by lots of restaurants recently, many with poor service or poor quality food so it's so good to find a business that offers such good quality and service. We have no hesitation in giving them 5 stars and will be returning very...

If you’re ever in the vicinity of La Strada, do yourself a favor and stop by—this charming Italian gem is a true delight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service that made us feel instantly welcome. The restaurant itself exudes a classic yet understated elegance, perfectly suited to its picturesque location, which is complemented by the convenience of ample parking—a rare treat these days. As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was a celebration of authentic Italian flavors, crafted with care and served in generous portions. Every bite felt like a nod to Italy’s culinary heritage, full of vibrant, fresh ingredients that spoke for themselves. The experience was seamless, and it’s evident that this establishment takes pride in delivering not just a meal, but a moment to savor. La Strada effortlessly balances sophistication and warmth, making it a must-visit for anyone with a penchant for quality dining. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
