If i could give this cafe a minus star i would. I have never been treated so badly by bullyish aggressive people in my life. We were served the most disgraceful bowls of fish soup that should have been done under the trades description act..This was most definitely not fish soup...there was no fish in it and it tasted of boiled water with pepper in it. when this was queried we were met with disdain so we asked if we could exchange one for a vegetable soup. This never arrived. Finally after waiting a while and the other two in our party finishing their meals...the third left her fish soup as she just couldn't eat it. (and whoever put reasonably priced obviously doesn't think ÂŁ12 for a sandwich is odd) we finally cancelled the soup and asked for the bill.On paying the bill it was felt that it might be incorrect, on going to query it we were then met by the male staff with verbal aggression...stating that he had put it in the till and that was that and then he said he didnt like us and informed us that this was private property so we had to leave. He was shouting...then a woman arrived and accused us of shouting and when we tried to explain she just kept talking through us and telling us we were in the wrong. Even when she re calculated the bill to find that we had indeed overpaid by ÂŁ8 she continued to say how awful we were and that she owned the cove and we had to leave and not come back. At no point did she apologise for the fact that we were unhappy with the soup (loosely described) or for the fact that her staff were rude and aggressive in fact she threw money at us and told us to give it to a charity!!! Awful awful place with awful service..please do not go it is unappreciated if you do and I can assure you in this cafe the...

Lamorna Cove is one of my favourite places in all of Cornwall so recently took my friends down there. I brought 6 friends here to show them how beautiful it was here and also (mistakenly seemingly) told them they make awesome sausage sandwiches. Upon arriving I asked the waitress who seemed like she was too busy for us what the large black pipe was that was in the car park (Which turns out is a 10 ton pipe that floated in from Brazil!). She abruptly told me to go down to the shed to read about it. All I wanted was a one liner as I was intrigued. Anyway I let this pass and we took some menus to see what we wanted. I had set expectations to my friends that they did sausage sandwiches but we couldn't see it on the menu. My friends took the order from us and went in and when asking "do you do sausage sandwiches" she got the menu, span it around and said "have a look....". Basically all of the drinks we wanted werent available but overall the attitude of the waitress was terrible, so much so my friends all wanted to leave where we went to Mousehole instead. I hope the manager sees this as entire visit was ruined and a sizeable order missed. I was annoyed that a visit to one of my favourite places was ruined by lack of simple courtesy and customer service skills. Our visit to the cafe felt like a huge inconvenience to the waitress in question.

But dont let this spoil what is a beautiful cove in Lamorna - just hope you don't get...

If I could give no stars I would! This place is a RIP off!! Took my elderly parents here last week. Beautiful location, weather was gorgeous and thought we would sit and enjoy a meal together. What a joke! The food was over priced and not very nice at all...the crab and lobster 'burger' was disgusting!! ÂŁ14.95 for a pile of tasteless mush on a cold Ciabatta roll! It was so vile...honestly! I can usually eat anything when I'm hungry...but this!!! We also had the Mackrel and horseradish ciabatta and the cornish Brie and sun dried tomato ciabatta...again all on cold bread. We would expect Ciabatta to be toasted?? Warmed up?? Melted cheese?? No.. And the drinks! ÂŁ4.95 a bottle of beer/ cider....not even a pint! But to top it all off..the service was abysmal!! Rude, vile woman waiting on and in the kitchen! I had read reviews on here about her before, but I believe you should speak as you find! She is exactly as others have said!!! She really shouldnt be working there! It's quite clear that she actually hates people!!! When my 83 year old Dad went to complain about the food..which cost ÂŁ72 by the way!!!! She just shrugged her shoulders at him!!!!!...vile, nasty piece of work!!! And the toilets!!!! Oh dont.... Just dont go spending your hard earned money there!! I warn you! What an...

Only giving two stars because the view is so good. In fairness to the cafe they were in the process of shutting for the day so the coffee being served in a takeaway cup was understandable. What wasn’t so understandable was how bad the coffee was. Weak and watery, the worst we have had whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Overpriced to add insult too injury. After finishing coffee we then discovered there is nowhere at the cafe, or anywhere in the cove for that matter, to dispose of the takeaway cups. By the time we had drunk the coffee the cafe had closed so don’t know if they have toilets but the cove doesn’t have any. As a result we couldn’t make full use of the parking time we had paid for, which is expensive, as we had to leave for a toilet search. My advice is visit this beautiful cove but do it by taking the walk from Mousehole. Beautiful, but a bit steep and rocky in places. The cove is best viewed from that approach anyway and Mousehole has some really good cafes for refreshments after the walk back.

Lamorna is a beautiful cove, and having the cafe there makes it a lovely place to visit. We arrived at the same time as two walking groups so there was quite a queue. They said it was the only place to stop between Lands End and Mousehole, so they seemed relieved it was there. Staff offered to refill their water bottles, which I thought was a nice offer. We had two Kelly’s ice creams with two scoops each for £3.95, which is in line with other icecream prices in the area. The staff were friendly and efficient. One of the ladies was from the Midlands, like us, so she stopped for a chat while she was clearing tables. Our visit was made even more special when my partner popped the question…and I said yes! We will definitely be returning to Lamorna as it’ll be a special please for us.

Despite the experiences of the other reviews the staff was friendly and informal, and the food excellent when we arrived by costal path. However, this was let down however by the terrible washroom facilities, also used by the kitchen staff! One our second visit mid morning, arriving by car we we discovered the car park was ÂŁ7 for the day; the washroom had no toilet paper or soap. So we skipped eating and went elsewhere to eat. Good food, informal staff but let down by excessive car parking fee and unhygienic washroom facilities.
