We were driving in our motor home from Sennen Cove to Veryan when disaster struck. Not knowing the roads, we followed the Satnav's directions and found ourselves stuck on an impassable narrow lane just outside of Penzance. Result- one burnt out clutch.|The vehicle recovery company came from Lanner and they recommended The Lanner Inn for us to stay while the MH was being repaired.|The Lanner Inn is a traditional pub that does bed and breakfast AND welcomes dogs, they have five of their own!|The room was clean and comfortable with a large en suite shower room, toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. They do not do evening meals but boy is the breakfast good.|That is the basic information but there is so much more to the Lanner Inn. What surprised us was we became 'honorary' locals for the duration of our stay. Our dog was welcomed into the fold as well. |We have never been in a pub where we have been able to order in a takeaway meal. A new experience.|When we booked a room at the pub we had no way of checking what it was like. It was a lovely surprise to find such a welcome and it made our two night enforced stay an enjoyable experience in what began as a traumatic experience. Enhanced by the attention we received from the...

I recently went to Cornwall to attend Poldark related events and the Lanner Inn was suggested as a convenient location. Turns out it was very convenient. I had a very nice room with a lovely window seat and a newly appointed bathroom. Breakfast time was decided upon and I had a very tasty breakfast (made to order) with a nice pot of hot tea. ||As a woman traveling on my own for the first time, I was a bit concerned, not for my personal safety but travel arrangements. Fortunately the bus stop is practically in front of the Inn so off I went to Falmouth for a day of fun shopping and site seeing and another day I went to Helston via Redruth.||The regulars in the pub were very nice and friendly and one guy even kissed me on the cheek my last night there! So I would definitely recommend staying there and would do so again. The price is very reasonable, the room was nice and the owner was a very nice man (Steve) who offered to take me to the train station my last day.||My only comment about Lanner is that there really isn't anything to see...
