Can't give it zero stars otherwise I would, no idea where the good reviews for this place are from, we got there just before 12 as it's advertised as opening at 12 we waited til five past and went in, to be quite bemused by the response to our request, we got told as we hadn't booked they would see if they could fit us in, went to ask, came back and said there's not any food prepared yet it will be 30-45 minutes we asked what's on the menu the reply was Sunday dinner it might be either beef pork or gammon but don't know which yet we can wait if we want, tone of voice of responses from the staff gave an impression that they weren't that bothered if we stayed or not they didn't seem particularly interested in receiving any custom so we left, we went to the tiger inn instead much better, I'd say don't bother with the lodge save yourself the journey and go straight to the tiger the food is lovely there and the staff are too Reply to owner reply: we didn't leave our caravan til 11:40 at barmston beach so how could we be sat there from 11:30????? Open Friday Saturday and Sunday. Sunday lunch cannot be beaten and expect to pay roughly £10 per meal. Everything is home cooked and you have a large selection of meats to choose from and with that you get a large selection of fresh veg & a selection of potatos too! Puddings also very nice with some home made choices too! I've never had a bad meal.. Ever... Cannot recommend this place enough. Large selection of drinks. Lovely quaint country pub set in grounds of a lodge and caravan park. There is disabled access and also ample parking.

UPDATE.. May 2022 Under new management.. open Fri sat Sunday 12 - late. Sunday lunch £10.95 beef, lamb, pork or turkey with small spoonful of mash, 2/3 roasties, a yorky pudding, a stuffing ball on plate then a bowl of cheesy cauli and bowl of green beans, carrots, cabbage + broccoli to share. There is no better place to eat in this part of the world. Quality, service and value is outstanding and consistently so. Over the last four days I have had the tenderest of steaks, succulent and tasty beef and Stilton pie and the best Sunday lunch with pork loin that melts and proper crispy crackling Ange and her family set the bar higher every time I visit.
