had a meal today after a busy day and thought it would be nice to sit and relax at a trusted pub and grill we leave near to, before renovations came in me and my family would eat here regularly and would enjoy the atmosphere, food and the staff were way more friendly and welcoming. six of us sat down at the table and the table was clean, empty and was evidently vacant and for use. within 10 minutes of sitting down a barmaid placed a reservation paper for a different family for a hour ahead. we did comment on this and the barmaid just said the table was reserved. we dismissed this at this point and went to the bar to order drinks. we told the barmaid we wouldnt be gone in an hour as we were a family with varied eating speeds. she did change the tables around so the reservation on the current table we were sitting at was now 3 and a half hours in front and we would definitely be gone by then. we ordered our food and the first meal that came was a burger and chips with coleslaw, immediately the girl noticed that it had an eyelash in it and asked the meal to be taken back. she apologised and took it back. we ordered a side of wings which were lovely and no errors or hygiene hazards. we ordered two steaks and both of them were medium, as asked, but had over half of them consisting of just pure fat. we then got a side of waffle fries with cheese and we had to ask for the cheese as it was forgotten. the lady eating it got to the bottom of the bowl and looked at it in disgust and was matched with a longer black eyebrow hair. this put everyone off of their food and we asked for the cheque and informed the barmaid about all our problems with the food and was greeted by the manager. we explained everything that had came up with the food, the service was good but the food and hygiene issue was the only thing.the food was taken back and the manager came and explained that eyelashes and eyebrows fall out of everybody but not once did the manager apologise or show any empathy towards the health hazard. just imagine if we had ingested it by accident. i just feel like the manager could of been more empathetic but she seemed to become defensive when confronted about the hygiene issue. i just feel like i should inform the people...

I'm going to start with the negatives and move on to the positives So, firstly it's really warm inside, which isn't a bad thing but you have to dress accordingly. I wouldn't recommend hoodie and t-shirt underneath like I did. Secondly, once you get inside, you will probably have to find a table on your own and it may be dirty once you sit down, they didn't clean it for us, but it is a pub so keeping that in mind, it isn't an abnormality. Although families going there for the first time might not know and might be waiting for a while to be seated, so it would be best to put a sign or something. The food was pretty good but I ordered sweet and sour chicken which wasn't all that great, but if you go there you should go for a burger or grilled food or something like that, so really it was my mistake. Now the positives, it's a really great local pub and it's perfect for family and friend get - togethers. There are TVs so you can watch the match with mates and family and the kids can run around freely. Overall, the atmosphere is warm and cheerful and you can really relax there. Half way through the evening, I found myself laughing and shouting and it has that effect on you, nothing is formal or uptight, it's great fun! You order yourself at the bar and the food gets to you quite quick. I would definitely recommend for a nice Sunday night with the family and friends, and you'll...

Well... First of all after calling up to make a reservation... we was told on the phone "it is ok to just come down there are tables outside and in" so me and my partner walked... on arrival we was met by a lady who made us feel we pretty much was not welcome as we didn't have a booking (an inconvenience to her) we then was not told about the ordering of our food and worked it out ourself 'the new way' took over 30 minutes to even receive a drink! Me and my partner had been on the long walk to the pub as mentioned earlier and even a glass of water would have been nice. Once receiving our drinks. The order was incorrect and I had to chase the waitress to the bar. I was then spoken abruptly asked to sit down and she would fetch it me. I explained i had waited over 30 minutes and would prefer to just stand aside.. she then stated again i needed to sit down (with a tone)...Once the food appeared. My order was not fully there.. I had to then mention we are waiting on two side.. waiter seemed to look confused. I showed him my order to confirm... when the rest of it came out it would be what you would expect. Standard pub food, nothing to shout about. The service was terrible.. no tables cleared and just point blank rude and under staffed, what staff the pub had seemed very clueless and had no customer service. The manager really needs to give his...

We came here after a long drive. We always look out for a greene king pub because the service is always spot on. Unfortunately this time it wasn't. The decor of the place was a mixture of new and worn out. We waited 45mins for our food with no warning before ordering that there was a delay. We did get a warning around 30mins into our wait that the food was on its way. I have a chicken less fillet burger which I'd describe as goujons, they were quite over cooked. Tasted like burnt cardboard. Only 2 onion rings when the menu said 3. The worst was my daughters fish which was covered in pepper. We were so tired and hungry we ate most if it and left with out complaining because it was getting late and we wanted to get to the hotel.

Won't be coming again! No more 2 for 1 breakfast. No brown sauce at all with breakfast, offered me barbecue sauce instead. 🤣Beer prices gone up, cold bacon served after waiting for half an hour in pretty much empty pub on Sunday. Bloke behind counter don't know anything about the menu and not bothered about it at all like it hasn't got anything to do with him. Didn't even know if they serve vegetarian breakfast. Very disappointing after coming to The Lodge for years! I'll spend my money elsewhere, thanks!
