The first negative review I’ve ever wrote thanks to an awful experience at the hands of immature staff and management which risked spoiling our family day out had we not been able to laugh them off as being pathetic wannabe “chicken select detectives” We ordered 5 chicken selects amongst the rest of our order and were surprised when only three selects came in a box that was labelled as “5 chicken selects” I didn’t really want to go back up to the counter and feel the embarrassment of asking for the missing two chicken selects however after being egged on by my partner I did decide politely inform the staff of their mistake. The seemingly teenage cashier then relayed the message to a member of staff that was handling the sorting of the food and they proceeded to at length get up the details of the order on the digital screen and make quite a fuss of checking the order. I said to them that I would go back to my table and naturally await the rest of my meal……..well I had rightfully paid for it of course and I didn’t think I came across as the type of person who would want to dupe them out of a further two chicken selects……I mean I can just about manage the five. Quite some time passed and I kind of lost hope that the rest of my order would ever arrive so thought I’d just let it go. Then the young lady who was managing the till cam marching over like some kind of school teacher and proceeded to interrogate me about the chicken select order in the end insisting that she see the box they came in and asking where they were, laughing in disbelief I stated that one and a half of the chicken selects where inside my belly and the other one and a half where still inside the box. I turned over the box to let her see what it stated on the front “five chicken selects” she then ignorantly stormed off back to the counter. I assumed that the missing chicken selects would follow which I would then naturally refuse on account of her rudeness and was pondering to myself how exactly to word what I would say to her as I didn’t want to kick somebody when they were down as I mean it can’t exactly be the most inspiring job in the world being a cashier/ whatever else at McDonald’s in the first place however there was no excuse for her rudeness. Much time passed and we said our goodbyes to another customer who was sat beside us and witnessed this young lady’s rudeness and we decided we’d had enough and were going to leave. I then decided to voice my dissatisfaction to the management (yes I had a bit of a Karren moment) but the manager seemed to find it all quite amusing and offered no words by way of apology let alone the missing two chicken selects I had actually paid for. I’ve heard people rudely speak to McDonald’s staff in the past and I’ve really though shame on them for really as I would put it kicking someone when their down and out in what must be a terribly mind numbing ultimately deadened transient stop off job for many who work there. However the staff I dealt with in this particular McDonald’s certainly do...
Read moreI had the worst McDonald experience at your restaurant this afternoon 27/06/2024 at approximately 8:10pm.
The reason why this was the a horrible experience is because your shift manager Luke was extremely rude and quite frankly horrible to my mother.
This all started before I arrived where Luke and my mother had an argument regarding the food hygiene your manager Luke was displaying which was him touching his face , hair and ears and then proceeding to touch the food . My mother works in the food industry pulled him to the side and they argued regarding this.
Once I arrived my mum explained the situation as she felt intimidated by your manager.
I then went to order food without my mother and whilst getting some dips , your shift manager Luke was rudely and inappropriately chatting about my mum to a women at the front counter, I heard him taking the piss out of my mother which is disappointing as I have worked for McDonalds previously for a number of years and know we aren’t trained to do that.
Once I confronted Luke regarding this and let him know he was talking about my mum he then started arguing with me becoming rather angry and implying I need to sort my mum out because she embarrassed him in front of customers because she didn’t pull him to the side to discuss issues but talked to him in front of customers so that’s what he was doing back. This is disgraceful behaviour I completely understand if Luke was upset for being called out regarding his poor hygiene but to chat about a customer at the front counter in front of other customers is unacceptable. When I pointed this out to him he said “ these are my colleagues “ to which I said “ you have a staff room back there “ to which he said “it’s actually over there” point to another part of the store, do you think this is appropriate?
My mother then came over after see him become pretty angry because I called him out for chatting about my mother , he then began in a heated debate with my mother suggesting she was lying about him touching food after displaying poor food hygiene saying he could have washed his hands and she wouldn’t know, however he had admitted previously he didn’t do that and he hadn’t noticed he’d been touching his ears ect…
Luke then got involved an off duty member of staff “ Denise “ who witnessed the whole incident and said she was a cleaner for this McDonald then said she wasn’t.
Overall, this is a very poor example of how to deal with a situation and for a shift manager to think he can speak to people like that is a prime example of giving a tiny bit of power to a small...
Read moreRonald asked me out one day Saying "You're quite a girl. Would you like some burgers Or a chocolate ice cream swirl?"
I told him that I was too busy And he was just not my kind. Yet Ronald was too persistent To be so early left behind.
He said, "The countertops are washed and the toilet seats and clean." He gave me a golden paper crown And said, "Please be my queen."
I told Ronald McDonald, "Please stop, and this crown is from Burger King." That is about as far as I got Before the clown took out the ring.
By then it was noon and he insisted That I stay for a Big Mac and fries. Then I saw the humor behind His pair of pleading eyes.
So I stood up fast and turned to him Saying, "You ugly, lying beast!" I threw him on the stove and added Some sugar, some oil, and some yeast
That night I read the local news And the headlines were in bold. "Ronald McDonald's funeral, Tomorrow we shall hold."
So the next day I drove to the grave To lay flowers by the stone. I said, "Now Ronald McDonald, You may forever sit alone."
I decided to forget old Ronald, for I'd sail onward in this sea. But when I passed Burger King I thought I saw...
