As we love Indian food and as this was new we thought let's give it a go , so booked a table ! Arrived at venue which is supprisinly small inside , show straight to table as we pondered through menu noticed a dirty fork and sideplate so had them changed , no alcohol served here bt you can take your own drink , maybe it's cause there new and haven't had there drinks licence yet but no bother , ordered poppadoms , starters and mains , the waiter took our order and asked if we wanted starter first or wanted all food at the same time ( strange ) who would want there starter the same time as your meal ????????
So declined and had starter obviously first ! Finished first course then a rather long wait for next course , considering it wasn't full and plenty of staff no real excus realy , main course arrived only thing ricecwas missing thinking it will be served shortly we dished out curry and broke up Nan bread and started to eat after at least 8min we started trying to attract staff to get rice , eventually someone came then disappeared into kitchen for another 5min , by this time we were well into our meal minus rice , after a while here comes rice , finishing our meal we ordered dessert , incidently they do a a special buffet set price meal which includes poppdom, starter , main , and coffee or ice cream, be careful with this as not all meals are included within this price of £13.95 at bottom of menu in tiny tiny tiny writing it states what is not included within this set price so beware , the meal wasn't bad but certainly had much better elsewhere , to be honest the service and delays were really bad , it amazes me in other restaurants when the waiter collects your finished plates the way they stack the plates , cutlery all in one set way and can take away the whole tables plates in one go , the staff here see to have been dragged in from the street as it took so many journeys to come back to collect your finished plates obviously they have never been a waiter in there life , to be honest the owner or manager seemed it was his first attempt in the restaurant business , will I return ...
Read moreWe first visited Mint Bay when we were on holiday in March. We had such a lovely meal there that we have just been again, twice this time (on holiday once more). Our visit was in September just after the children had gone back to school, so the restaurant was quiet as far as dining in customers are concerned, but extremely busy with take-away and delivery orders. The flavours the chef gets into the meals are absolutely brilliant. The best curries I’ve ever had, and that includes ones I’ve had in India and Sri Lanka. The service was excellent and very friendly and we were offered a free side dish with our meal. I hope we are able to have another holiday there in the near future just so that I can have another tasty curry. Well...
Read moreI would avoid this place in future! Ordered a delivery, was phoned an hour and a half later to say they were struggling to deliver. Cancelled order and was assured by the manager that he was sorting out my refund through just eat and I’d have to wait a couple of days for said refund! Nothing came back so I contacted the takeaway again, who said they’d ring again and see what was going on! I then contacted just eat myself and through automated messages was told that because I’d left it over 24 hours they couldn’t help. I’m now nearly £40 out of pocket and have been lied to. The number Mint bay gave me for just eat isn’t even used anymore. They’ve now said if I keep messaging they’ll get me done for harassment! What an...
