If you’re ever passing through Highbridge and fancy a proper, no-nonsense breakfast or a filling lunch, Ray’s Roadhouse is a solid spot to check out. Tucked away on Commerce Way, this down-to-earth café has become a local favorite for its hearty portions, speedy service, and laid-back vibe.

The menu sticks to the classics – full English breakfasts, omelettes, club sandwiches – the kind of food that hits the spot when you just want something warm and satisfying. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything arrives at your table pretty quickly. It’s the kind of place where you know exactly what you’re going to get, and that’s part of the charm.

One thing that stands out is how friendly the staff are. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, you’re made to feel welcome. It's also dog-friendly, which is a big plus if you're out with your furry friend, and there’s free parking– always a bonus!

Like any café, it’s not without the occasional hiccup – some visitors have mentioned mixed experiences with food temperature or management, but most reviews are positive, and it’s clear that Ray’s has a loyal following.

All in all, Ray’s Roadhouse is a great little pit stop for a proper café meal, especially if you’re after a relaxed, local feel and a plate full of comfort food.

Im only giving 4 stars because although my experience was great, they need to update their socials as I found this cafe on Google maps and was so confused when I initially arrived, wondering if i was at the right place because the photos are so old and the place looks...

Shameful - they should providing a better service for paying customers. Order a cheese and tuna toast - full of tuna no cheese in sight and the chef had the nerve to argue and say he put it in himself and they do no measure how much quantity they serve the customer - I called them to query, with the response I got I was not happy so I went back showed him the foods cos I felt disbelieved of over the phone and he still claimed he put cheese in. If the service was apologetic and understanding I would have never gone back - but there's no hope when they serve you bacon when you had order a veggie breakfast on the past - I went back, I showed home the food and he still claimed he put cheese in - So i gave him his food and he didn't even offer me my money back - so I told him to keep the money and he said OK - How this behaviour and level of service...

I finally got to try Ray's café today and was disappointed. Waited a while to be served as the one girl on the counter was taking orders to the tables, as well as taking orders from new customers. Waited 10 - 15 minutes for my food, ordered a 'Mega' breakfast 3 Sausage, 3 Bacon, 2 Eggs, Satue potato's, tin tomatoes, and toast, plus a tea. I don't think it was worth over £7, I think the flat top grill needed cleaning as my bacon was covered in black burnt bits. Not very enjoyable, eggs had been splashed with fat which cooked the yolks, plus the bread was a small size loaf, not a full size slice. Tomato sauce on the table was cheap sauce, but in a Heinz sauce bottle (naughty, naughty). Not the cleanest surfaces or floors, if the state of my bacon was anything to go by, the kitchen is probably low on hygiene. First and last time...

Well I went in today and I've not been in for a while.. I barely recognised the place.. its had a complete refurbishment to a very high standard.. its got a vintage rustic look and its very very cool.. food wise the menu as changed to what it use to be. There now offering more choice as well as your old favourites.. also they have a night time menu with hotdogs and burgers and nachos. Today I went for a nice simple omelette with chips and a cup of tea.. my missis had the same.. we both enjoyed are meal and the price is very reasonable.. I recommend you go there and even if you have been before just go take a look at the refurbishment and grab a snack while you are there..
