As big fans of everything 50s, we were excited to try Monroe’s, but sadly it didn’t meet expectations. The decor feels really shabby and outdated, instead of fun retro, it just looked tired and a bit dirty. The food was basic, like children’s party food, nothing special at all. Our waitress was rude and came across as quite intimidating, which made the experience uncomfortable. Other customers were loud and swearing, so the atmosphere wasn’t great.

The only positives were that it’s very cheap and the food came out fast.
